MonoBlack is my favourite deck of the current meta.
I've played multiple variations of it and this is the newest one I'm trying.
It has led me to several FNM victories and hopefully will lead me to a SuperIQ victory this saturday.
Anyway here is the list, feel free to give any feedback!
Creatures
4x {Tormented Hero}
4x {Pain Seer}
4x {Thrill-Kill Assassin}
4x {Pack Rat}
4x { Mogis Maurauder}
4x {Xathrid Necromancer}
Spells
4x {Hero's Downfall}
4x {Thoughtseize}
3x {Ultimate Price}
3x {Bile Blight}
Lands
4x {Mutavault}
4x {Temple of Silence}
14 {Swamp}
SIDEBOARD
4x {Staff of the Death Magus}
3x {Lifebane Zombie}
3x {Doom Blade}
3x {Duress}
2x {Erebos, God of the Dead}
As you can see unlike most versions of MBA I removed the Herald of Torment and added in the Necromancers.
With trading out every non human creature for a human creature I can now successfully survive a Supreme Verdict and continue to aggro out.
While this does little to help with D-Sphere I often keep a {Ultimate Price} and 2 mana open just in case they target something I have multiple of IE:Pack Rat
(FYI: If you murder the pack rat they target utilizing the stack then their D-Sphere fizzles and you keep your board state)
The side board is self explanatory, after seeing the damage that {Staff of the Death Magus} did in Bejing GP there was no further argument about not running it.
Boros burn is a huge problem for this deck with its ability to out DPS you.
any consistent life gain at all however will force them on an even tighter clock and eventually burn out their hand.
But where do you get consistent lifegain from? You dont have pharisas touch or whatever its called, whip of erebos
Staff SB of course but is that all?
4 copies of staff is more consistent than Whip
Staff activates off a swamp or a black spell.
So With one out I'm looking at 1-2 life minimum each turn.
Whip is really only used for Devo decks to get the extra 2 symbols.
i do not think one tournament justifies using {staff of the death magus}.
Umm, I hold GP Bejing in pretty high esteem.
It is the best tech to use against Boros Burn IMO.
i think its a fine sideboard card, but if you want to be aggro, and your caring about your own lifetotal, that is bad news bears in my book.
Let me rephrase.
The Staff is great [IF] you are going to be playing in a meta where BorosBurn will be a threat.
Yuuya Watanabe has 20 Grand Prix top 8 finishes.
Thats exactly 20 more than I have.
While i'm not the type to go out and just cookie cut a net deck I do know when to take the free advice given.
As an aggro deck why do you favor the four scrys as you don't seem to require a white source?
I'm just wondering if it's ever gave you an unfourtantely opener of 2 scrys and a mutavaults per say? Slows you down in some rare cases?
Its one of those preference things.
If I open up with multiples then I just say oh well and play as if i'm a land drop behind.
The real use for them is mid game, By then I have 2-3 mana required to play every card in my deck.
At that point it has two uses
1: Stack the deck so PainSeer Doesn't murder me
2: Info about the next card coming up and play accordingly.
Information and Flying are the two most important things in MTG
U/W control is rather rampant in my meta.
Its the absolute toughest match up for my deck.
Taking out the Heralds denies me access to the skies but I raised the # of Marauders to increase my chances of sneaking hits in.

Why are you running this deck, if the hardest matchup is the prominent deck in your area?

I don't quite get the question.
Should I not run a great deck that plays to my skill/style just because it has bad matchups?
The simple answer is he probably likes hunans, aggro, ans black, amiright?
I am going to use something similiar to this on friday at fnm=]
Any suggestions against uw control? and anyother decks?

Hit hard and fast. UW is differcult otherwise.
Side in duress and Erebos so they can't stablise.
Gods are particularly useful against u/w control?
Don't play doubles of ANYTHING, unless you have enough mana open to kill one of your own guys off.
Also if they are running blood baron DO NOT lifebane zombie or thoughtseize until they have 4 mana.
Save your hand removal till right before they can cast it.
If that card hits the board you are 90% fucked
I need the erobos's and thoughtseizes:/
