To fix lands I'd remove the guild gates first. Where possible add their respective shock land from RTR. At this point basic lands are going to be better than filling the remaining slots with gates so that u have less lands that come into play tapped. This will help speed up the deck a lot.

Also from personal experience to far the best play style I've found with RWU ( aka American) strategies is one that focuses on the late game through field control, draw, and scry. The following are some options to consider.

CREATURES:
Omen speaker -- great against faster Aggro builds with a solid toughes of 3. Also great at smoothing out the upcoming draws with the 2x scrys.
Aurelia -- an interesting finisher with haste that gets hilarious with a boros charm set to double strike. Not to mention that the free extra attack phase can do some nasty stuff when paired with other creatures. Flying becomes relevant too with a lot of decks running desecration demons/stormbreath dragons.
Stormbreath Dragon -- again a great finisher. The pro white is great against control and the haste almost always ensures some quick damage. This guy also provides you with another evasive flyer option.
Boros Reckoner -- this will make more sense when you pair it with some of my other suggestions for spells, but suffice it to say that he is solid as he is wih the additional ability to combo out into infinite life against burn deck builds. This becomes relevant lately with the advent of boros burn decks becoming popular.

OTHER SPELLS:
Supreme Verdict -- if your running with white and blue this almost seems mandatory. It slows the Aggro/creature builds which there seems to be a lot of lately. Also, gives you a simpler field to take advantage of especially if planes walkers like jace/elspeth are added to the build. I'd run a full set of these.
Magma Jet -- the burn of this spell is limited in power and will rarely be relevant with the late game, however the 2x scry is uber powerful at smoothing the draw for either removal spells/lands or whatever else you may be in need of.
Detention Sphere -- I'd max these out to 4. They are great responses to many of the most powerful card types in the current standard format including enchantments, planes walkers, indestructible permanents, and others. It is even more fun in the mirror match when they are being played against an opponents detention sphere.
Sphinx's Revelation -- if you can get a set of these, you need to. These get you to the end game, and if things start off slow for you it also helps extend play into the late game with the included life gain. A resolved sphinx will give you the win almost every time from my experience.
Cyclonic Rift -- this is a great option for main/ sideboard removal. It may be temporary, but it can clear some nasty stuff fom play long enough for you to push through into a finisher. It also had the option with overload to be played early or late game with good success. Which means that it doesn't become a dead card as the game moves along.
Azorious Cham -- paired with boros charm, magma jet, reckoner it can do nasty stuff. But by itself it can give you some distinct advantages including draw/ removal. Paired with the ability to scry this becomes much stronger.

WALKERS:
Jace -- if u have a set run 3-4 of him. He digs for answers to problem cards. He can also act as a road block to smaller critters. He is worth the mana and space in the deck.
Elspeth -- this one may or may not be useful if your mana curve is already too high, but she can be a great finisher against many deck types. She is fairly easy to protect once she is in play too.

One more thing to mention is that there are several good white instant removals right now that I would pick ove any of the red burn spells you currently are main decking. Some even remove the creature/ permanent from the game. Also, consider counter spells based on their efficiency. If you are not spending the mana in order to leave it open to possibly counter, it is best to use an efficient counter spell. I like dissolve for the efficiency in scry that is built into it. But most counters that require 3 or more mana are not going to be efficient enough for standard play.

If I think of anything else I will let you know.

Please take a look at my BUG Walkers deck :-)

I would also like to point out that skullcrack is an excellent sideboard card against opposing sphinxes revelations. I wouldn't main deck that one unless I was running a burn deck that needed to keep the damage done so far from becoming moot in a matchup.

Nice, thanks for all the advice . I've been trying to tweak this deck to perfection for a while, now I might be able to pull top 4!

If anything it's a nice change for the 10 or so people that go R/G monsters at my FNM :)

My local groups have the same thing going on currently. Almost half the players are some version of R/G monsters or whatever. I have been running American control for the longest time to combat it. With some of the more recent cards in born of the gods I've recently made the switch over to another rouge deck for standard so I get access to some more monster hate... Lol. My only problem that became obvious when playing American was the matchup with esper was almost never in my favor.
