Title: Legacy cards tradable?
Post by: majkmom on March 31, 2014, 10:29:19 PM
I'm new to iMTG and I'm getting back into MTG after a VERY long hiatus. I have thousands of cards but they're all pre-modern. Is it worth the time to enter them into my trade binder? Will anyone want to trade their standard cards for legacy cards? Very few rares unfortunately. Sold long time ago.

Well chances are youve got some uber expensive cards, go to tcg or some other card dealer and check it out! Then just list cards thatre worth a decent value, chances are someone will be looking for them

Depends on what you have honestly. There are thousands of cards worth almost nothing but there are lots that are worth a great deal of money. Many uncommons from early sets have reached $20-150 so it's worth going through what you have.

I would suggest only listing cards that might be of value. You may have to do some research. Off the top of my head I can't think of many others then  {Brainstorm} but I'm sure there are more. Welcome to the community and back to the game.

Also some cards might be modern legal due to reprints, be aware of that!

Thanks for the advice! I am checking my old decks for possible reprints and looking for modern replacements for the rest. And I decided to go ahead and enter my whole collection just so I can remember what I've got lol (just finished black A-M)

And I do have several Brainstorm, but haven't figured out what I need yet. Will post needs after analyzing my decks.

Lots of commons and uncommons available from the following:
Artifacts cycle
Invasion cycle
Masquerade cycle
6th edition

Some cards from
Mirage
Ice age
Tempest
Odyssey

I've noticed that the binders I've looked at are mostly rares. I need commons and in commons from modern and standard sets too! Check my needed binder if you might have some I need. I designed a couple decks and added the cards to my needed binder.

My decks typically contain the following types of cards:

White: life gain, flying, damage prevention, Serra anything
Red: direct damage (especially X damage)
Green: mana gain, trample, life gain, elves

Thanks for all the help guys! 2 possible trades in the works already!

My entire 10k collection is now catalogued in My Precious binder. Anything worth trading is in my Trade Binder. Thanks to the forums for helping me understand the different binders! My first trade is packed up and ready to mail tomorrow. I'm getting there LOL
