Hive Mind, The Musical! 60 cards, 0 sideboard 8 {Island} 4 {Breeding Pool} 8 {Forest} 20 lands 3 {Birds of Paradise} 4 {Arbor Elf} 7 creatures 4 {Utopia Sprawl} 4 {Summoner's Pact} 4 {Gitaxian Probe} 3 {Intervention Pact} 4 {Slaughter Pact} 3 {Simic Signet} 4 {Hive Mind} 3 {Pact of Negation} 4 {Pact of the Titan} 33 other spells Sideboard 4 {Fog} Notes: The point of the deck is to ramp into {Hive Mind} then drop a pact card I know the opponent can't pay for.... They lose 'cause they can't pay for it. I get t3 hive mind then kill them with a pact. Its stupid and jenky yet incredibly fun |
Quote from: MisterJH on March 30, 2014, 02:42:30 AMWhy would I fill it with expensive cards? Theres no point to that. It works incredibly well the way it is. Its like buying a minivan brand new then saying it needs more fire coming out of the front so you buy a flamethrower for it. Its just unnecessary. At this point the only thing I'd change out would be the llanowar elves for birds of paradise but otherwise it works pretty much perfectly. Also the total build cost is almost exactly 100 USD
How much does this build cost? And you should update it with fetchlands and {birds of paradise} and other more expensive cards and tell us the cost f that too, assuming you wanted to make it as competitive as possible

Well you could add fetched and {gitaxian probe} to greatly increase chances of hitting all your combo pieces, so i think itd be worth it
Also addig a {sol ring} and other mana rocks like that would benefitthis deck as well
It may work really well im just saying for people who dont mind spendig a ton on mtg it could be made more consistent for a lot more money, i just was wondering how much more

Quote from: MisterJH on March 30, 2014, 10:59:12 PMTrue. But unhelpful

Quote from: Vindog on March 31, 2014, 06:59:16 AMThe ideal hand is a pact, hive mind, two Forests and arbor elf a utopia sprawl and another pact
What's the ideal hand in this deck ?
Edit: to win on tuft three?

Quote from: Taysby on March 31, 2014, 05:15:29 PMOk. I'll beat the shizzle sizzle out tat them though
Check out my tier 1 decks list. All of the decks have some way to hose this deck. Most of it being {remand}s and {cryptic command}s and {snapcaster Mage}s.
Yes, you might win game one, but game 2 and 3, they know your gameplan and will work around it and hose you.
Quote from: Sparkle Ninja on March 31, 2014, 10:46:20 PMGitaxian Probe is a great card, but not insurance for getting the cards you need.
I put in a gitaxian probe because of you
Quote from: MisterJH on April 01, 2014, 11:12:52 AMConsider it done! I got second with this deck at a modern tournament today. It's faster than control decks can deal with. Especially with all the pacts. I ended up losing to a {R}/{G} from after getting mana flooded with a pact of the Titan
That would ruin the entire fun of the deck, from what i can tell the entire point is to make it janky and solely use hivemind
Thats how i like to make my decks, and changing it around completely would do just that
Keep it ridiculous sparkle!!

Played this in cockatrice, and destroyed my opponent g1, then g2 I was mana screwed.. no g3.
Quote from: Sparkle Ninja on April 06, 2014, 01:57:19 PMYeah, although it needs less pacts and more ramp. Also some form of tutor?Quote from: Thetrufflehunter on April 06, 2014, 01:18:14 PMYay! Someone decided to play it. Did you like the feel of the deck?
