Title: Packaging
Post by: Splicer on March 27, 2014, 11:19:33 PM
Not really sure if this goes here...

I have confirmed a trade with respawned and I will have sent it soon. This is my first trade. As the title says, how do I package it?

Put it in a Penney sleeve than a top loader or you can bubble wrap it and send it or put it between two pices of card board and do it that way as well but if you can always put it in a plastic case of sorts and put do not Bend on what ever your sending it in. Hope that helps.

I sleeve the card, put it in the top loader, tape it shut then fold a piece of paper around it so it doesn't slide everywhere then tape both ends, fold it the end so it fits in the envelope and closer 'er up. It's also good to put a strip of tape along the flap after you lick it closed. They have been known to bust open. I once sent out 3 trades and forgot to lick the envelopes shut and didn't tape it. The paper was really tight in the envelope though, so none of them fell out and they arrived ship shape.

I put about 5-6 cards into a penny sleeve and then into a hard shell
tape top of hard shell
tape hard shell to the inside of envelope
on envelope I write DO NOT BEND, and get non-machine

with larger amounts of cards I will do the same but with a bubble wrapped envelope or put bubble wrapping around the hard shell(s) or use a cardboard deck box from wizards if needed..
You just pretty much do what it needed to get the cards to where they are going in the same condition as when you sent them=]

Card in sleeve
Tape shut
Tape to cardboard that is slightly larger than cards
Tape cardboard stationary in envelope
Mail to happy customer
Be happy
Have good day

*mail to unhappy customer
I get mildly frustrated when I have to spend 10 minutes digging through the packaging for my card.

Put card in penny sleeve (or nice sleeve if it's a bigger trade)
Put upside down in top loader. (That hard plastic case sleeve thing)
Tape shut
Put in envelope
Done
I'm sure that mild frustration is quite a lot more favorable than the disappointment you would be overwhelmed with upon receiving an empty envelope. Trust me.

If you really want to, just do one piece of tape connecting it to the envelope.  How would it end up coming out of the envelope if it was sealed though?

Yeah, I tape the top loader to a plain piece of paper and fold it and put it in the envelope. I've seen plain top loaders cut out the side of envelopes if they're not secured.

A top loader is a hard shell sleeve. It is just a big thick plastic sleeves. Local game stores have them. And some walmart a have them. Usually come in a pack of 35.
