Title: How would I find local players?
Post by: ibtrickey on March 26, 2014, 10:04:05 PM
Is there a way to find local magic the gathering players other then going to a local game store?
The one closest to me is all the way across town and the people who work there are not the nicest.
I like the store that is in a different town, but hard for me to get to=[
Any ideas?
Town I am in is Stockton, Ca

Well first I would list where you live like you did and ask if anyone plays near you. Just because the workers at the shop are not nice doesn't mean you can't make friends with players there and start your own group to play somewhere else on other days. I wouldn't do this but some people use Craig's list. I dated a girl who had two roommates from there with no problems.

Also at one game store you can post stuff on a cork board "looking for players".

Are you in school or work talk to people there.

Yeah, your best bet is to go to you LGS. Other options are to check MTG sites. For example, if you check on TappedOut.net, they allow people to post events on this map so that everyone can find each other.

These people have no idea what theyre saying. The best and easiest way is to systematically track down the addresses and stalk every member of this and other mtg forums until you find a decent amount in you area, then leave subtle clues around their house to lead them to your basement where you tie them up... And play mtg all over their face

Multiverse makes people nervous because you basically plot your 1-50 meter position on a map and have it directly correlate with the value of your collection...

*WARNING TO ANYONE THINKING OF STEALING MY CARDS*

I have two small yet vicious dogs that aren't afraid to chew your ankles OFF! You have been warned.

Also sharks with laser beams attached to their heads. That is all.

I have been having a hard time find local players, myself. I wish I lived closer to people on this forum. One idea is to check your local university/college for play groups. That is how I gave broken the ice, where I live.

You could always send a message To players near you

I'm actually quite frustrated at the lack of standard on Thursday; I don't like drafts

Bonfire!!! If your lgs has that common/uncommon bulk turn-in for store credit, I'd suggest doing that.

They don't cause there a small shop but the other shop adventures in Carmichael does that. I walk 7 miles to do that they will also pay $8 a box cash if you do that iv mad quite a bit of money doing that. And the box size it a tool builders deck box size.
