When I was looking for the price of my cancel card it didn't show up f course all the otherness did that cost three mana but the cancel I have is only two mana

The mana cost can be found in the upper-right corner of the card. If it costs 2 mana, you may have {Counterspell} or {Mana Leak} instead. Check the name.
Well, the oracle text is what you use, so the specific card {Cancel} will always start by costing 1UU.
Perhaps you're thinking of {Counterspell}?
