Top8'ing an open or two doesn't make a deck tier 1, it's consistent appearances at the top, otherwise the list would be 20 decks long, since all kinds of random decks can top 8, which isn't helpful when trying to make a list of the major (ie: tier 1) decks that you should have a gameplan for.
I think a deck that stays around and top 8s more than once and will almost surely be seen at some point is something you must prepare for.. A nice touch that someone could help our faith servant.. I mean friend.. Taysby with is to post percentage prevalence of these decks in major tournaments, in top 16 appearances, top 8 appearances.. Something along those lines, so people can see the rankings of these decks based on popularity. Id volunteer but i dont even freakin play magic really, i dont have a deck atm xD
