Title: Transfer collection to iMtg 2
Post by: Agog on March 23, 2014, 11:57:30 PM
I'm on ios devices and am hoping there's a mechanism to move my collection over to iMtg 2 (the performance does seem better) that doesn't involve rebuilding it from scratch.

Can I just copy the Dropbox file over to the iMtg 2 folder, perhaps with a few manual edits?

Oh, got it working through restoring collection from DropBox in iMtg 2. At first it didn't seem to work, as My Precious from root selection came up empty, but then I noticed in the binders area the My Precious binder showed the cards.

I then went ahead and purchased everything for iMtg 2 (was on free version) and the main My Precious root selection seemed to start working. No idea if it was the purchase or simply time for updates to be made.

Think I'm good now. Glad to be on version 2 with the snappier search performance.

Both apps limit the number of binders to 3, for more binders the in app purchase is required. Glad you are enjoying II ;)

So in order to have everything in imtg2 that I've unlocked in imtg1, I have to pay again??!?! Seriously?!?

It is a new app. Programming time went into it. Why shouldn't you pay for it. If you are content with what you have you don't have to move.

True enough, I just hope there are no plans to end support for v1 ...?

IMtG one will get database updates for the foreseeable future, same as iMtG II. However, iMtG one is based on SDK 6 which is now banned from App Store by Apple. Perhaps new technology can be back ported from II to one at some point in the future, but there is no budget for it for now.
