I believe you may do it over and over. Most things will tell you if you may only do it once per turn

603.2c An ability triggers only once each time its trigger event occurs. However, it can trigger repeatedly if one event contains multiple occurrences. See also rule 509.4.

So, only once per trigger. The multiple occurrences clause is when things like 3 creatures triggering etb effects together.

The ring has the same logic applied to it as extort.
