Title: Dumbest win cons
Post by: MarduArrow on March 10, 2014, 10:29:56 PM
What cards create  win cons that you would be annoyed or embarrassed to lose to, or even be embarrassed to use? (Any format but preferably edh)

Here are all of the cards that specifically say "You win the game." Lots of them are pretty gimmicky.
{Azor's Elocutors}
{Barren Glory}
{Battle of Wits}
{Biovisionary}
{Celestial Convergence}
{Chance Encounter}
{Coalition Victory}
{Darksteel Reactor}
{Epic Struggle}
{Felidar Sovereign}
{Helix Pinnacle}
{Hellkite Tyrant}
{Laboratory Maniac}
{Mayael's Aria}
{Maze's End}
{Mortal Combat}
{Near-Death Experience}
{Test of Endurance}

Let's not forget {The Cheese Stands Alone}.

(I know it's just a Barren glory, but still :P)

I love it when people use janky win cons, and would never be disappointed to lose to any of those. Its called originality, and at least its not ANOTHER devotion or Azorius control deck...

I've actually lost to a {Door to Nothingness}.

I'd say {Battle of Wits} in EDH. Sure, there's the method of {Spawnsire of Ulamog} to do it, but there was also another way that's even more complicated and hilarious that involves going infinite and copying Research of {Research // Development} enough times to shuffle 200 copies of {Relentless Rats} from your sideboard into the deck. It was the funniest thing ever.

If someone casts  {Sphinx's Revelation} into {Aetherling} against me once more I'm going to vomit. It's really boring to play against.

I honestly don't mind losing to cards, but some people can just manage to get under my skin with condescending comments, and acting like they are better than anyone else.

I'm guilty of building a deck around their strategy
