Title: Return to Lorwyn??
Post by: GamenDork on March 08, 2014, 11:23:31 PM
Theory time!

Ok, so if you aren't already aware, the codenames for this upcoming block are 'Huey', 'Dewey', and 'Louie'. They wear red, green, and blue, which are 3 colors in Magic.

Lorwyn introduced the first 5 planeswalkers: Ajani, Liliana, Jace, Chandra, and Garuuk. Jace, Garuuk, and Chandra have had 4 different printings, more than any other planeswalker.

As I said earlier, Huey Dewey and Louie wear blue red and green. The  planeswalkers representing those colors were first printed in Lorwyn.

Coincidence???

Maybe, we'll all know at PAX East anyway! :D

Actually, you might be correct strictly for a few reasons.

1. The unbanning of bitterblossom
2. Reprint of Thoughtseize
3. WOTC desire to increase modern play

I support this because:

A) Tribal play in Theros (subtle, but exists)
B) the Wedge block is on Mark Rosewater's short list.

I believe we will Return to Llorwyn and the Conflux will go crazy, we will have a wedge block. We get new names, new philosophy, maybe new Planeswalkers, or our first 3 colored

Hopefully it isn't overhyped like theros and born if the gods. They were boring.

Innistrad was such an amazing set. The flavor and power level were all there. Theros hit the flavor for the most part but missed the power. When the cards aren't exciting the game isn't exciting.

I think the flip cards helped a lot and the miracle was a good mechanic.

I HATED inistrad with a passion. The set was to powerful. I feel instead should have been released ever. It was ridiculous and annoying

You. Die. Innistrad was my favourite set. It did have its moments of OPedness but it balanced itself out. Innistrad was insanely tribal and tribal decks tend to run well against most other decks. The set was made to not seem like a piece of garbage after an amazing set like the New Phyrexia. Overall You do have your opinion and this is mine but I hope you put some thought into it

I loved Innistrad, it had such a good combination of flavor and card power and mechanics. MaRo said in his podcast that it was one of their greatest successes. Now that I think of it, I liked more mythics from that set/block than I normally do!

The cards from instead was alright but with the sets it was paired up with was ridiculous. And it became annoying playing the same deck and getting wiped unless you played zombies or deliver and it was so annoying. And that's why I liked theirs there was so much variety. But botg done .loved. that up.
