Getting ready for FNM and need to know if I can return Herald of Torment with the whip and bestow it? And would it leave play at the end of turn since now it is a enchantment?

No, you cannot have it enter the battlefield as an Aura. From the Theros FAQ (http://www.wizards.com/magic/magazine/article.aspx?x=mtg/faq/ths):

QuoteIf a permanent with bestow enters the battlefield by any method other than being cast, it will be an enchantment creature. You can't choose to pay the bestow cost and have it become an Aura.
