Colorless until it flips. As far as color identity goes (for EDH), it's black.

Wanted to make sure.
Then are cards like  {Erebos, God of the Dead} {Heliod, God of the Sun} {Purphoros, God of the Forge}
Allowed as a commander since they are not initially a creature unless devotion allows??

They are considered a creature and an enchantment unless they are in play.  Only when they enter play does the devotion matter.

Easy way to tell if something is legal as a commander. Does it have the words Legendary Creature any where on the type line on the front side of the card? If so, then yes, it can be used as a commander (except for those banned as a commander)

Remember the rules folks:

Limit "Multiple" Question Threads. Anthology threads of several different questions are tricky because you can't give the thread a significant title, follow-up discussions are hard to keep up with if the thread jumps back and forth between several topics. Also, a members question might be answered in that thread and lead to needless repeat posting. As a result, we prefer that each thread contain only one card, or 1 set of card interactions. If you have multiple questions after your latest FNM, don't feel afraid to ask, just put them in separate posts please.

Haha, it's trickey... Muhahaha... It's my last name..
The reason I ask a few questions is because one leads me to ask another.
