Why not splash blue for the cryptic command and spell snares etc. Gives you acess to a bit more.

You dont just splash for Cryptic. It costs 3{U}. Thats not splashing, so its just too expensive and you hurt your devo.

Not a real big fan of Bob here. With obliterators and Gary, he seems a little dangerous as a 4-of. Maybe something like {Phyrexian Arena} maindeck?  I know it costs {B} more, but seems less likely to make you suicide.

Ive been trying it both ways and see a lot of people running arenas in their versions, but so far bob does such much work to get ahead. There are no 1 drops with dearhrite gone so hard to play anything other than another discard spell if you are just running arenas.

Generally, Bob can hit a merchant but when you drop the merchant it more than makes up for it.

Anyways, I'm still unsure and have to playtest against other types of decks still but that's why I feel you could swap bob for arena depending on the game.

In most cases waiting for the arena to drop at 3 either leaves you vulnerable bc you have no creatures, except shade. With bob i can always block with him or sac him with lili if necessary.
