So what do you think of the card? {Whelming Wave}. I feel like there aren't enough cards of this type to be relevant. Perhaps we have some octupuses (isn't it octupi?) coming in the next set? This has potential to be a cool card.
I already think it's cool
What if they make a brimaz-power level octopus in Journey into Nyx! BUY THEM ALL NOW BEFORE THEY'RE $50!! :D :D
Just kidding, that would be really funny though.
Why isn't it octupi on the card?? Now I'm really thrown off by this

MaRo has talked about this, apparently both are completely acceptable. I agree with you though, octupi sounds cooler.
Just bought 3 playsets for dirt. Speculation baby!

Octupi is actually incorrect by the rules that pluralize. It's greek not latin so octupity is actually the most correct. Octupi has been largely accepted for a long period so it's acceptible. English pluralization is octupuses.

there aren't that many in Standard, but there's plenty for an EDH deck.

It just so happens I have taken 19 hours of Greek and the proper pluralization in Greek would be octopodes.

That is the correct spelling of what I spelt more phonetically. It is pronounced oct-ah-puh-dees.

Meanwhile everyone is spelling octo with a u. Lol
Okay, but seriously what do all think of the card? I like it, it works well in control decks because it pseudo-sweeps. Esper and Azorius control decks use {Aetherling} and {Elspeth, Sun's Champion} to finish and this doesn't really hit either of them (obviously it hits Elspeth's tokens, but you can just remake them). I just wish the thing was instant speed and a 5-drop, or something. Money wise, I think the thing might rise to $3-4 (currently at $0.52) when RTR rotates because we are losing {Supreme Verdict} and {Cyclonic Rift}. This card and {Fated Retribution} are really the only substitutes so I think they will rise in price slightly.
The best thing about it is it doesn't get rid of {Kiora, the Crashing Wave}'s krakens! :D
It could potentially be a one-sided {wrath of god}
