Title: Best Deck of PTBNG
Post by: Agrus Kos, Enforcer of Truth on February 21, 2014, 11:53:31 PM
What is your favorite deck seeing play at Pro Tour Born of the Gods? I really like Blue Moon.

I like Blue Moon, but I'll always be a pod player at heart. There's a weird Melira list that runs {Knight of the Reliquary}, so I'm going to go with that.

I really like the Amulet deck I saw running about

I like blue moon as well, I'm hoping for it to win because:

It seems like the most efficient of the rogue decks in the pt

If it becomes more popular, ill win more because I'm trying to build affinity

{Amulet of Vigor} deck is one of the more interesting decks.  Watching him win with the pact/hive mind route was awesome.

I'm not a fan of either decks. Blue moon is good in a zoo heavy meta and the bloom deck has been around for awhile and isn't my thing, are people now paying attention to it because this is a PT?
Twin, living end, pod, zoo, and UWr  are likely going to top 8. I haven't seen any lists but I'm hoping for Affinity, UWr or Zoo. I didn't see anyone playing BGx or Bogle which makes me sad :(

I saw one or 2 Bogle decks but that's about it. Then again I didn't catch all of the PT

I really like Blue Moon, because I have been trying to build a Black Moon deck. Its basically just a Rakdos control deck, utilizing Pox style control and discard, but the {Blood Moon} helps shut your opponent down even more. Additionally, the red splash enables a lot of different mainboard and sideboard options.

That's a really cool idea! I actually really like that and Blue Moon it just makes sense why does mono red get the only benefit from Blood Moon? {U} and {B} should have it too!!!

Out of curiosity and a stunning volume of ignorance, let's say I had this friend who would like to watch this "PT", where could this friend (not me mind you) find the applicable footage?

Was it similar to your 8-rack?

Yeah very similar core of the deck. Has some small differences.

The footage is on YouTube and they stream PTs on Twitch.tv also, just go there and search Magic: The Gathering.

I'm loving the strength UWR has again. Also, this tournament is a great show of why deathrite is banned and probably won't be unbanned. We have so much more diversity, and Jund isn't 6 of the top 8 decks.
Yeah, but now we have 50% of it being Twin lists :/

And sideboards will adapt :), twin isn't even in the finals. Birthing pod is, no surprise here, the deck is still top 2
It's still going on? 😱I figured it'd be pod v twin or pod v UWr

Yes, there is a lot more diversity, but I think it will be unbanned in a few years. I think many things will eventually come off the ban list as the format grows. The only things that should stay on the list long term are broken combo pieces.
