A) I know that quite well, I've built over 407 modern decks and counting.
B) I'm asking for a lot of people suggesting cards so I can get a feel for how the deck should be made then go my own way with it.

Just because you make a lot of decks doesn't mean that they are made properly, they are just made.
And the deck is always going to be the same minus a few cards here and there, they are always going to play the same way if you're planning on making this deck competitive. You would create a whole different archetype if any other way. Adding a color doesn't change the entire goal of the deck, only the cards in it. You have to manipulate the whole theme of the deck to create something new and go your own way.
