{Pongify}, {Rapid Hybridization}, etc.
{Submerge}, {Vedalken Shackles}, {Sower of Temptation}, any bounce spell ({Vapor Snag}, {Unsummon})... Or the blue mage's best weapon... Counter it!!

If you're playing something super powerful in modern, it probably costs two mana. Bob, goyf, remand, snappy, etc

I am so glad I got my playset at 5 a piece. I've never had to worry about goyf with my deck, cause my guys are usually bigger/unblock able lol

Overload is a replacement effect, it doesn't change the CMC of the card. In other words, yes. =]
