Title: Help with Kemba!
Post by: Silent1236 on February 17, 2014, 05:02:49 PM
Decided I wanted to throw together a {Kemba, Kha Regent} deck for giggles. Any equipment I need to include that I probably forgot about?  I know straight off the bat that I want to use my favorite six (all 5 swords and {Batterskull}) but I know there are special things I've missed. Ideas?  Creature ideas?

{Strata Scythe} (assuming you have many plains in the deck)
{Basilisk Collar}
{Swiftfoot Boots} / {Champion's Helm} (Not {lightning greaves} or {Whispersilk Cloak}, as they will prevent further equipment from being attached)
{Trailblazer's Boots}?
{Moonsilver Spear}?

I'll try to think of more later...

You could just unequip the {Lightning Greaves} and re equip them after all the others are attached

That's true if you have a creature to move the greaves to, but even so, Kemba is vulnerable until it's put back on.

1.) you don't need another creature, you just unequip them

2.) if you don't run the Greaves, she'll be vulnerable anyways : p

there's no ability on  {Lightning Greaves} that "unequips" it. It has to target another creature under your control or the creature must leave the battlefield. And swiftfoot boots is the alternative here to keep her from being vulnerable.

I thought you could just... Unequip lol I guess I'm wrong

And it's always nice to have a second form of protection for the commander : p

Haha I'm a fan of having both. But on the other hand use  {Leonin Shikari} and  {Leonin Abunas} and there's some other guy that makes equip costs 0... I'll look into that later if you'd like. He should be hard to find

Scratch that.  {Auriok Steelshaper}. Makes them 1 colorless less. Regardless it belongs.

Also,  {Stoneforge Mystic} and  {Stonehewer Giant}

...{Pennon Blade}. I hear you like cats? Also try {Konda's Banner}.

You are allowed to take equipment off a creature.

So you CAN simply unequip it?

Also, {Raksha Golden Cub} is killer

Apologies. I was incorrect. Straight from WotC:

You can't just move an Equipment off a creature, though – you have to move it onto a different creature you control.

You will more than likely have a cat token to put the shroud boots on, so it shouldn't be a problem.

I like equipping and enchanting, so I generally avoid shroud anyway haha

A few more equipment:
{Argentum Armor}
{Sword of Vengeance}
{Loxodon Warhammer}
{Mask of Avacyn}
{Magebane Armor} if you don't care about gaining the ability to fly
{Ring of Thune} is decent, but you can probably find a better card to fill its spot

Creatures:
{Taj-Nar Swordsmith} grabs an equipment out of your deck and puts it on the battlefield
{Puresteel Paladin}, {Raksha Golden Cub}, and {Stoneforge Mystic} have already been mentioned, but should be emphasized
{Brass Squire} lets you attach an equipment at instant speed
{Auriok Windwalker} does the same
{Leonin Shikari} does this without tapping, but you still need to pay the equip cost
{Sunspear Shikari} is nice when equipped
{Kemba's Legion} makes a nice defender, but it's expensive

Other:
{Revoke Existence}
{Steelshaper's Gift}
{Quest for the Holy Relic}

Lol it's fine. Thanks for letting me know, but I'm not too worried about that number. =P

{Deathrender}, the 6th Sword =]
And {Sculpting Steel}, because two is better than one.
Also {Enlightened Tutor} and {Steelshaper's Gift} to tutor.
I have a mono-{W} Voltron/Goodstuff EDH if you want to check it out for ideas and such. I'll bump it, it's titled "Real Steel".

Did someone already mention {Umezawa's Jitte}? Also, {Brass Squire} might be fun, depending on how competitive this deck is supposed to be.

Sorry if I missed someone suggesting these already.

Also, things that equip for 0 are fun. Move them on to cat tokens to attack, then back to Kemba post combat. The only one I can think of right now is {shuko}.

Could be, I don't play  competitive enough commander to know. I was just going through my list of awesome equipments in my head.

Awesome :D although I'm sure there's a lot more artifact destruction in most EDH decks than normal decks, it's still awesome.

 {Nemesis Mask} is nice to have equipped to a token and swing in for commander damage.
{Pariah} and {Pariah's Shield} are good too, of course then you need to throw in a  {Stuffy Doll}
