I have never understood how people do this.
They're a decent band, getting big too! i hear them on the radio often and they are playing Coachella this year. If you want another band that's kinda similar check out Purity Ring. :)

Simple. After the late 90's/ early 2000's, radio music has steadily gone downhill... imo, there is no such thing as good music anymore

>>implying radio music is the only music
not implying that at all. I just don't listen to the radio anymore. I'll listen to pretty much anything, but to me, i'm just not feeling the music anymore. Now it all sounds the same. No innovation. Kinda like standard right now lol
Every single time I see this thread, I have to pronounce The word "Churches" with a v. Thanks for keeping my brain entertained, guys 😜

A couple questions...
1) What exactly is "good" music?
2) To what extent have you actually searched?

Ohhh... *shudders*. Make it stop... So bad...
It's certainly better than most of today's music :P
Personally, there are tons of solid artists right now who write deep, meaningful music, as long as really good pop
Fun.
Christina Perri
A Great Big World
Capitol Cities
Some artists that are a bit older like
Jack Johnson
John Mayor
Incubus
I mean, music is just a preference. I prefer newer music, electric party pop stuff, but ALL music is good, it just depends on the person who does like it. No music really deserves to be called bad. It's just your opinion

There is good music today, I agree. But there is also odd music... Swag, by JB for one ;)

And you're entitled to think that ;)
But I just don't like people who complain about new music >.<

I'm not complaining, just saying I prefer other music. Like Green Day ;)
This has been eye-opening for me.

But none of those artists write deep, meaningful music.
Fun, Christina, Jack Johnson, Incubus and John Mayor definitely do. IMHO. If you disagree, I can't make you think my way, but personally those artists do write meaningful music
This is why I don't argue with people about something as subjective as music. Everyone's a .loving. critic.

I mean I always figured music was a topic that was " to each, his own"
Seriously can people really argue what to like on personal preferences? Obviously you can... But logically no one can be wrong.
I think if you want to like something you can find good somewhere as long as you look.
And if you want to dislike something, the same is also true.
Much like the people who like or dislike our hobby
