So this is a mono black modern deck in in the process of putting together. I want it to be fun to play and play against, so I don't want to focus control. I'd like for it to hopefully win about 50% of the time against my friends. None of us are super competitive, but if I play against other players outside my group I don't want it to get steamrolled.
99% of the reason I started the deck is because I was just given the obliterator, and I didn't have a deck for it. So the deck doesn't really have a focus. With decent draws, I'd like to put a little early pressure with diregraf ghoul and thrull parasite, work up to heralds of torment, then up to Erebos, eater of hope, abhorrent overlords, and the obliterator. Some extra drawin via Erebos, read the bones, pain seer, and underworld connections. And then the parasite's extort, Erebos whip, and exsanguinate to counter the lifeloss from my draw cards. I would aim to win via gray merchant, exsanguinate, or overlord harpies.
Looking for suggestions, but keep it mind I don't need this super competitive. I don't want to make it a pain to play with or against. The sideboard is basically a maybe board
In my play group, I'm the friend who gives magic cards away. I wonder what it feels like to receive...
I wonder what it feels like to just get a $30 card... A man can dream
Well my friend visited his hometown and one of his friends, who stopped playing magic, gave him all his stuff. It was too much to bring it all back with him in one shot but he brought the money cards. I got some good stuff passed over to me, the obliterator is far at the top of that list, along with a bunch of sleeves and boxes! We've given each other a good amount of cards at different values if we don't plan to use it or need it for a specific trade.
But does anyone have anything to say towards the deck!
The only viable type of mono-black in modern is 8rack: http://imtgapp.com/forum/index.php?topic=32920.0
The way the deck currently looks, it will instantly get obliterated by any competitive list.
Look at my smallpox modern deck!
It's a 8 rack deck I run it's so fun!
