It feels good to be back in my home colors.
4-1 tonight.
No Jace? Seems more powerful than Ashiok
Jace is bad card draw. Look back at the control lists of last summer when we had actual good card draw for control, no jace. Playing jace now is an act of desperation in response to having no early good card draw.
Midrange taps out to pressure the board with advantageous cards. Control has responsive plays and ideally two for one answers. Tapping out for {detention sphere} and {jace archetect of thought} is so detrimental to any idea of "control" in a format as explosive as this one. I wont deny these midrangy control lists have performed well recently but I am not a midrange player and have a higher win percentage on true control.
Ashiok is a early threat or late threat. Plays nice with verdicts. Permanently exiles things. Most importantly it fogs 5+ damage in the aggro matchups.
Although I highly disagree, I suppose I understand
More testing shows it's pretty good in most matchups but I might need a makeover to the sideboard.

Can you clarify what "it" is? Lol
I'm sure he means his deck.
Well what matchups do you think your main deck has the best advantage over and what do you think your sideboard should be to help counter your weakest element. I personally don't like {syncopate} in sideboard and would rather have another {gainsay} and {far//away} but that is me.
Current format
Mono blue mutavault- favorable matchup with tougher sideboard options like {ætherling} and {gainsay}. Sideboard white threats to counter pressure them and {gainsay} to remove their threats.
Mono blue nykthos- similar to the previous except {gainsay} is more relevant as they are more explosive and keeping devotion down is important.
R/G aggro (2-4cmc)- easy two for ones main and side and {ashiok, nightmare weever} is an amazing {fog} spell.
R/G monsters (2-7cmc)- must keep devotion down as they are explosive sometimes with haste but {quicken} hate is very effective. Post board white threats help counter blue hate like {mistcutter hydra}.
UW control- ashiok makes this easy and double {elixir of immortality} gives me a better late game. Sideboard powerful creatures steals wins after they side out creature hate.
USA control- direct burn can be a problem but again ashiok and elixir make this match easy. {Assemble the legion} has to be {cyclonic rift}ed and/or {thoughtseize}d but not a huge concern with {gainsay} back up.
Esper control- enemy ashioks hurt. I dont see a ton though so I am not building to beat this.
Bant control- faster mana means more draw for them and a shorter mill clock. Not concerned.
Bant midrange/flash- my instant speed wrath is very effective and sideboard creatures counter pressure well.
Selesnya aggro- ashiok's fogs and verdicts should be enough.
Selesnya midrange- they give to stabalize before truly threating so verdict and rift do the trick.
Rakdos aggro- potentially blows me out game one but {brimaz, king of oreskos} is great agaisnt them.
Mogis devotion red/ mono red- similar to rakdos aggro but {azorius charm} is more relevant to keep devotion down.
Mogis devotion black- generally I should be able to stabalize before the asphondling.
Mono black control- i dont have creatures for them to hate on an they dont have walkers for me to worry about.
Mono black devotion- wrath effects win but {thoughtseize} hurts
Mono red burn- potentially hurts game one but elixirs and sideboard {syncopate} help a lot.
Mono red aggro- can hurt but ashiok fog and wrath help a ton.
Mono white weenies (brimaz)- a smart player could get there by not over commiting but my ability to wrath on their turn and lack of reliance on spot removal gives me an advantage.
Black white (blue?) humans- {xathrid necromancer} is annoying but not having to wrath on my turn is a huge help.
UW heroic- i honestly expect very little of this deck.
UB heroic- since I dont have any creatures to hate on this deck is poorly positione against me.
Mono white weenies (one drops)- glass cannon as it gets and meta doesnt require that i sideboard {drown in sorrow}
{syncopate} is good against anything that relies on dorks and i enjoy it in the control match since my threats are cheap.
