Title: You gotta do what ya gotta do
Post by: Mattao19 on February 08, 2014, 03:57:45 AM
I'm playing Esper Control (I know I'm a douche and a hypocrite lol) anyways my opp. is playing RUG and has out a 3/2 {Lotleth Troll} and despite my attempts to {Detention Sphere} it twice he had 2 {Negates} in hand and ready! So next turn I play {Elsepth, Suns Champion} and BAM another {Negate} I was shocked lol but I was sitting at 16 with {Sphinx Revelation} in hand so I'm not worried but still lol

A few turns later and the Troll is a 7/6 :( I have in hand 2x {Heros Downfall} and 2x {Supreme Verdict} I have an Elspeth out sitting at 5 and he swings I Downfall it. He has 4 sources of {B} mana he regens it (side question: this removes it from combat right?) anyways he passes turn I downfall again he regens it again. He has 2 {B} open. On my turn I -3 Elspeth to destroy it he regens I verdict he regens then I verdict again to FINALLY KILL IT!!! My hand had 1 card left and it was a {Sphinx Revelation} that I fired off for 6 next turn lol he scooped then and there.

So what's the most amount of work you've had to do to kill a pesky critter/threat?

Trolly is my friend. I play junk rites (just posted my list in standard), and he is kind of a second win-con.

I had to 5 for 1 For ætherling because he caught me without a counter. I play esper control as well. Also i believe if he regens the troll it loses all the counters as well. Yes it removes it from combat and instead of hitting grave it stays on the battlefield tapped and removes counters.

Doesn't lose counters as it never hits the graveyard. Regeneration essentially puts a shield around the creature.
