Title: Brimaz
Post by: DylanW18 on February 06, 2014, 03:11:03 PM
{Brimaz, King of Oreskos}

Does he make a difference in any other format? Should he be a commander, or just in a commander deck?? Soul Sisters in modern?

Any ideas welcome, just curious about others opinions :)

I can see him in Soul Sisters and Zoo in Modern and a good card in standard. Idk anything about Legacy and Vintage so I can't comment there.

But my 2¢ are that HE'S NOT THAT GOOD!! Lol like he's a good card but he's not as amazing as ppl say! I'd pay $6-$10 tops for a copy not $37 or whatever he is lol he still dies to everything and there's nothing worse than having your $37 card destroyed pure combat by a 15¢ {Doom Blade} ... Just saying

End rant :D

Ps aren't Cookies delicious?

FACT! He isn't that good!

He doesn't protect himself like Geist does... But hey, who knows

IMO he gets trumped by {Hero of Bladehold}. HoB was huge in standard, and we all see where that went. I need four Brimaz, but I refuse to get him while he is above $10-$15. That's rediculous. I dot really see him being played outside of standard and commander.

I absolutely love HoB! Such a great card! And it's only $6 so that should give an idea of how much Brimmy will be soon?

Or at least post-rotation.  HoB was fairly pricey for a while.  $15-$20 range pre-rotation, if I remember right.

He's a 3/4 for 3 with vigilance.

Meaning he survives most burn.

Geist gets rocked easy by {pyroclasm}

His tokens stick around as blockers or whatever else also. And also have vigilance id hold off judgment till we see what all the pros can break with him

Well unfortunately (or fortunately) it's a modern pt. but in standard, we have {Heros downfall} {Doom Blade} {Ultimate Price} {Supreme Verdict} {Detention Sphere} {Mizzium Mortars} {Devour Flesh} {Ratchet Bomb} etc.

I don't see him being modern played. Soul sisters are pretty polished, so he won't really see him there. The only thing that I could see him replacing is {hero of bladehold}, and that's very unlkily because he's susceptible to {abrupt decay}.

Player 1 gathers up cards, goes home, lays in bed and softly cries while whispering "you'll be good some day mr. Kitty."

Let's be honest guys, there is an answer for everything in this game, Brimaz has value because he is dangerous if left alone. It isn't that he is hard to kill, it is that if you make the choice not to by using removal elsewhere, he will let you know why it is a bad idea to ignore him.

On the other side of the coin, because he is so dangerous by himself he is a magnet for removal, allowing your other creatures to potentially dodge that doom blade or other removal spell.

Llama you are my herrrrro.

Tbh you should fear him and he is good... It's just one more pos to have to deal with in g/w tokens have fun with that lol...

I mean so will I... Since i don't run g/w tokens...
