You don't have to donate the {Jace's Erasure} because it says target player. Just target yourself.

This way you can use Maniac to win, not just get rid of one opponent. (I typically do multiplayer.)
I know what you mean I'm just saying when you get ready to draw from an empty library you win. If the erasure is under someone else's control then you have to hope they pick you as the target player.

Well, if they don't then someone else will mull out, and so will they, either way you win.

Well it's a activated ability that's for this combo so you would to respond before the combo is on the field.
