Ditto!
To pick up where the last topic left off, I loved the story for FF7 and so many things about it, but I wasn't thrilled by the materia. it was good, but bordered on micro-management at times. FF8 was a nightmare. Although it had a cash system that made sense for once (why are bats carrying gil? ???), drawing magic was a terrible idea. I felt like every time I met a monster, I had to sit there and drain all I could before even picking up a weapon. This was worse in situations where a boss had an awesome spell. The only redeeming feature IMO was the trigger attack. That was novel.
FF9 was a step back towards a more fantasy flavor and less "photo-realistic". Summon element to the story was very grandiose and as a whole it felt like they were trying to use what worked from FF7.
FFX was brilliant! Just Brilliant!
Just gonna put it out there, FFXI was a flat out disappointment.
FFX ws definitely my fav! Water ball = hours of fun. Auron is def my fav FF character ever.

Agreed! FF7 and FFX are tied for me.
Never played FFX1 because I hate MMOs (just sayin').
FF12 was decent, but I couldn't get in to the storyline.
FF13 was sad and linear. Boring!
Fav Summons? I love Yojimbo from FFX!
Did anyone enjoy the Triple Triad card game from FF8 as much as I did? I could play that mini game for hours. Dare I say that FFX was not that great IMHO. Also, FF tactics is another great one and it has a lot of replay value I think.
TL;DR:
Balthier kicks everyones ass
FIN.

I agree.
I've only played Final Fantasy (the original) and Final Fantasy III because both are on the App Store, but I am eagerly waiting for IV to probably come to the App Store.
FF8 for the card game but six is my all time the story and the battle system the whole game is nuts. By the way snes or GBA version is the best.

I liked FF6 and FF4 too!
Favorite was tactics
Oh, do I have some fantasies. The first involves my teacher, a pineapple and a rubber chi... oh, Final Fantasy...
Being serious now, FF 7 was one of the first games I DL'd onto my PS3.
I liked the SNES Final Fantasies the most (4,5, and 6), but 7 and 9 were also very good. 8, was meh. And I still haven't finished FFX

I think FF1 was NES, then 4 and 6 were released as FF2 and FF3 respectively. Much confusion abounds.
FF was NES and it was AMAZING! When they came out again for DLC I felt so overwhelmingly nostalgiac I could have popped! But caves ... what the?
Alright I'll bust out my compendium.
7 was my first and all time favorite,
Played 8 and hated it, but I enjoyed 9 because quina is a boss. I absolutely loved 10 even though Tidus looks like meg Ryan. 10-2 was okay but I wanted the completion so I fought through it! Never played 11 but 12 I haven't finished, I just couldn't power through it. 13 I enjoyed even amongst the linearity of it the story I vastly enjoyed, and vanille <3 and I like hope unlike most people. 13-2 was A-freaking-mazing give it a try! I have 1,2, & 3 for ios, 3 is a port from ds, I'm mad we haven't got 4 or 6 for port yet I want to play! And they just put 5 on psn going to DL soon.
I've also played the other ds multiplayer ones.
Edit: since dl and playing through 8 again on psn, I have grown and matured and actually really really enjoyed it this time. Still hate drawing though
Also ff crisis core for psp was amazing
Also, Cid Highwind is cooler than both you and me so just don't even try.
I should post some pictures I drew of the FF7 characters while I was in high school. They helped me pass art class lol. I never did any of the other work in that class because the teacher gave extra credit for anything you did on your own....so I spent the last few weeks of the class ignoring everything else and just drew a bunch of the characters. I think I have Cloud, Vincent, and Cait Sith. The Cait Sith was the last one I did and it was perfect. I will take some pics and post em when I get home from work....maybe.

That's pretty boss, I used to trace lol but actual drawings is way better
Yea they are not traced. Just free hand with colored pencil. The Vincent was not that great....he was the first I did and I could not get the shading right....plus his face is not perfect......he was my Guinei Pig lol

That one was a hard one. I beat it on GBA. If you can't tell I love GBA.

Chocobolina?
IV = I rented It for 2 weeks from the video store and payed almost the value of the cartridge. It was my first FF.
VI = all time favorite game! Ever.
IX = final fantastic! Except for the ridiculous deus ex machina ending. What a letdown...
Anyone know why Cid is in every FF game?

I love IV too, in fact, I still have my original SNES cartridge. I wonder if my savegames are still on there...
Many of the FFs have surreal, David Fincher-esque endings. Those were my favs, but IX wasn't as good.

Same reason Chocobos, Moogles, and Biggs and Wedge are in nearly everyone (are they in ALL of them? Can someone confirm?). A tiny thread linking them together. I would love to see a "Multiverse" FF, like FF Dissidia (which was great BTW!) that explains how Cid ties the FF universes together.
Chocobo!!!!

Yeah, one of these days i'll hook my SNES back up and take it for a spin. Hopefully the electrolytic capacitors haven't dried up. And I just realized that I have FFVI, not FFIV. I had both, but I don't know where the other one went. :'(
I have a snes with 4 controllers if anyone is interested.
FF7 was like having sex for the first time, a revelation. It was my ''best game I played" for ages.

Agreed. Who else beat Emerald and Ruby weapon in FF7?
I did the second time I played through

Those were the most epic battles I ever played in a video game. I can remover trying for hours to have Emerald weapon leave just Cloud on the battlefield......then I would lose and have to start over again. Sephroth was a pushover after beating those two.
Yes indeed. I rember in ffXI I think the final hunt in the hunt club took me a day and a half to bet
