Title: Light of sanction
Post by: Wingnut on February 03, 2014, 08:39:35 AM
If I have  {Light of Sanction} out and I  {Supreme Verdict}, does this save my creatures?

Nope. There is no damage  to prevent and they are destroyed

Unfortunately that makes sense. My train of thought was that to destroyed damage would have to be dealt, but when you break down the wording in the rulings that's not the case. Gonna have to replace it with  {Avacyn, Angel of Hope}.

Or you could ulti {Elspeth, Knight Errant}. Emblems can't be affected by anything. Avacyn can still be exiled or killed by something like {Turn // Burn}.

How do the emblems works? Just a sign that says this is so until the planewalker is gone?

Emblems are a permanent (fully active, it isn't actually a permanent, is also is not a card), game changing effect.  So far (and hopefully forever) there is no way to get rid of an emblem.  As far as I know, {Karn liberated}'s ultimate is the only way to get rid of one.
