I also am an izzet Mage that loves playing anything blue and red. I love the idea of the satyr turning all of your burn into kill spells. For some suggestion I would cut 2 steam augury (too slow) for 2 more turn/burn to deal with problem creatures such as {Desecration Demon} . Along those same lines I would cut the shocks and the searing bloods because they don't kill very many things in the meta. I'd replace those with {Rapid Hybridization}, more lightning strikes, and maybe some skullcracks so you can again deal with problem creature while doing damage to your opponent. Also mizzium mortars would be good in the main as a 2-4 of because it kills things like {Brimaz, King of Oreskos}. Another cool card you could add is {Purphoros, God of the Forge} because it combos with young pyromancer and the satyr.
When playing a rogue deck like this you must mold your deck to the meta so you don't get recked. You are going to have a hard time with mono black so have your negates and izzet charms handy. Also things like esper and azorius control could be a problem so burn spells must be handy as well as negates. Aggro decks are no problem for you because of all the burn. Be proactive when it comes to knowing the meta so that you can build a contraption with your izzet powers and crush your enemies.
I really like the idea of the red god I will definitely test it out as I own two and that seems like a 2 of card.
I do however fully enjoy steam augury. It runs at instant speed I tried running other draw spells but I hate having decide between holding off or not and having the option to bluff or actually counter a spell then draw at end of their turn is too compelling.
There's been a handful of times where I know my opponent can't deal with a spell heart coming out (lack of flying control) and I can seperate into a 4-1 draw and get the best of it.
I'm trying to keep the cost as low as possible for my curve so I'm not feeling the removal of shock I would throw in a skullcrack over lightning strike at least one in.
I have thrown in the gods and will begin to play test it tonight any other suggestions?
Maybe remove smelt for another swan song?
{Counterflux}?
Updated the main and sideboard to reflect what I'm currently running and a actual side board.
I don't care for counterflux in standard their isn't really a need in main board perhaps though in sideboard for other control or mirror decks.
