Super bowl is about to start! Who are you rooting for? Go Broncos!!
Go 49ers!!! ...wait, they lost... :'(
I am rooting for the commercials, because I don't care about football :P
I doubt the broncos will win with the way they're playing.
Yeah. I'm pretty sure this game is over.

Still a lot of time left only down two scores. And an injury away from either team being beat.

How do you figure?
isnt wrestling the same? I figured it was that way with every sport you could injure yourself (or others) in
So 22-0. What else do you need to see?

that could have been decided before hand so people wouldn't catch on

Actually no, that interception would be it.
How about this fumble?
Also, why do coaches come up with "football plays" and write "play books"
Wait? It's today?? I thought they had moved it to Monday because of last weeks weather...
It was an interception. Luckily for the broncos, it was overturned.
The way they're playing, unless they pull something out of their butts, it's over now.

you mean if the script dictates a "miraculous comeback"
Dude. Stop. No one thinks you're funny. Trying to repeat the same joke doesn't make it funnier.
And if you think that what you're saying is the truth, you sir, are extremely niaeve.
Who expected that half?? Like just wow! I wanted to watch a game. As much as I love watching Manning mess up this game is lousy :(
Football in general has no point anyway. What do you gain from sitting for hours watching people beat each other up over what? Points? What are these points used for anyway? Does it extend there life or something? Football players are overpayed for doing absolutely nothing that benefits people
What about all these poor people who can't even afford a nutritious meal? The starving and war ravaged people in Sudan? How the hell do yet benifet from the Super Bowl? It's all a bunch of frivolous useless Bulls**t that doesn't benifet needy people in anyway. F*** I hate the Super Bowl, and I hate the overhyped overpayed nonsense that doesn't do a F***ing thing for anyone who needs it! The Super Bowl (not the players though, I'm not cursing them) can go to h*ll!
I couldn't care less about football, however I love the halftime show and commercials. :P
Bruno Mars was amazing, red hot chili peppers were trashy and annoying. Case closed, those are my thoughts on the ENTIRE Super Bowl.
And now a kickoff return. 29-0.
I really hope it becomes fun to watch soon.

You can say that about almost anything. The point is entertainment. Yea bad stuff happens all over the world. If you don't like the Super Bowl don't watch it. Get enough of the county/world not to watch it and it will stop. Right now it's a good form of entertainment.

I'm not sure what that means but I hear manning yelling it a lot. Hah.
I'm really not sure if Denver can really stop Seattle at all.
Ah I didn't hear it. Then never mind.

The Seahawks suck. They couldn't get one more td together for a nice even 50. ;)
I think they should have put the whole 3rd string line get some play time not just the QB. Would have been a nice gesture.

I don't have a horse in this race and I'm not taking sides, but I just want to point out that Magic: the Gathering is owned by Wizards of the Coast, which is owned by Hasbro Inc. Which is a big company.
Well, i was rooting for the Broncos but they didn't do too well... ill just go back to playing Spartan Bowl :P

I'm not taking sides either (though I admit I think entertainers are overpaid in general) but I'd like to mention "De gustibus non est disputandem es," that the arguing/insults over matters of personal taste are incredibly pointless and without precedent. There's nothing wrong with enjoying sports, and there's nothing wrong with hating them, but please remain civil, there's no need to instigate.
Anyway, back on topic. I didn't get to actually watch the game this year, since I was at a prerelease all night playing magic like the glorious nerd that I am. But it sounds like I didn't miss much. How was half time? I like the Chili Peppers, but I heard they were going to cover Van Halen? I like Halen too, but I can't picture RHCP doing them lol.

also, you do realize that farming is a huge billion dollar industry in the USA, and many farms are owned and operated by big businesses?
Very well said :P

I just want to address one point: the notion of "overpaid" and "underpaid."
For those of us who live in America, this is a market economy. Prices and salaries are dictated by what someone is willing to pay or take. If someone will pay an athlete $20,000,000.00 a year to "throw a ball around," then he's clearly worth that sum of money to someone. Someone set his value at that and by accepting the salary, he agreed to that figure.
If you refuse a job at Wal-Mart because they only pay $10/hour, someone else will fill the opening. That job isn't "underpaid;" it's set at exactly the right price, because the employer is willing to pay it, and someone is willing to take it. If you feel you're worth more, find an employer who agrees.
And like it or not, by accepting that Wal-Mart job, that person has implicitly set their own worth at $10/hour, at least until they find someone willing to pay them more.
If Magic terms help, let's look at that Karn Liberated I mentioned on the Price thread: He's listed at over $50. The shop offered me $17. Muggy offered me $35. How much is he "worth?" The answer is: he's worth whatever I can get for him. If I set his price at $100 and no one will take it, he literally wasn't worth that. On the other hand, the shop said he wasn't worth more than $17 and Muggy proved he was by offering twice that figure. That's the market at work.
And remember, it has no intrinsic value; it's a piece of flimsy cardboard with a picture on it. But to Magic players, that card matters, just as to fans and owners, players like Michael Jordan matter. His only skill was basketball, but it was enough to those willing to pay. And if they will give him millions, he has every right to that money. He is not "overpaid," or they wouldn't have paid it.
If just like to point out that it's a mixed economy because government controls minimum wage.

Half time was awesome, and that apperance was really shocking, but that game was riduclous, broncos should have known that seahawks are a second half game team. and alowing them to score the way they did in first half screwed them over
It should be called the sad bowl. I feel bad for manning.

Why am I not surprised a thread about the super bowl turned into economics lol.
Kind of sad Sherman was on crutches at the end. I like that guy.
What the game looked like to me. The Denver broncos believed the hype that they were better then the Seahawks. Denver went into the game expecting to win and then the Seahawks punched Denver in the face. Denver did not know how to respond. Seattle just seemed to want it more. Also the fluky plays all went Seattles way.

I agree. That's why I felt bad, because he's a hell of a QB, when he's protected.
