Keranos (ru) is more prophecy in this set than anything, and Phairika (BG) is potions too.

I'd love to see more Dragons. {Forgestoker Dragon} is awesome (scored a promo!), and I'd like to have more Demons that I'd actually play. Since {Shadowborn Apostle} came out, Demons across the board have been kinda crap.

I think Keranos might be the god of storms and prophecy. He's mentioned in {Lightning Strike} as the cloud being his arm which is why I'm thinking storms. He is also mentioned in the name of the card {Stormcaller of Keranos}

Not necessarily. Most permanents do have colorless mana symbols in them, and that's what Devotion works off of; so {Bronze Sable} and {Mogis, God of slaughter} would give you the same devotion to colorless if that was the case.

tone it down and at least switch out the +1 and the -2. Ajani would rain hellfire (first strike flying hellfire, mind you) on the meta

I don't know....the artifact lands were a huge mess, but without "affinity for enchantments" they could be safer. In the end, I think Wizards won't take the risk.

I don't know exactly where they said it, but both of these things have been confirmed by Wizards. Modern Masters 2 just makes sense because of how popular it was and that it didn't lower prices so people really can't complain about the reprints and MaRo has said on Blogatog that Huey is on a new plane.

hard to say this early about the mechanics. and i mean its not like the spoiled {brimaz, king of oreskos} and kiora first. they build some suspense and then drop the crazy cards. plus a lot of cards are better than they seem, and are only fully understood later.

Ajani's Presence is down right fantastic.
Gnarled Scarhide + Extinguish All Hope gives mono black aggro a chance to run a 75% enchantment line up and board wipe late game
Eidolon of Blossoms could end up being a necessary part of some stupidly broken combo.
And Iroas, God of Victory is just plain stupid good.

It looks like no matter what ability the attacking or blocking creature has first strike,deathtouch, etc. as long as your creature with Godsend blocks or becomes blocked even it were to die you would still get to exile whatever blocking or attacking creature

The cant cast spells part is really dumb and going to PO a lot of people who dont want to spend $80 on a hyped card... Its seriously an effect that severely limits fun imo more than anythig, turnig your deck into a bunch of deadcards? I justthink its going to make the entire meta full of removal which will be rather boring imo

T6 I have say 6 lands in play and Kruphix out. I cast a {Boon Satyr} so I have 3 lands untapped end of your turn I have nothing else to do so I tap 3 Breeding Pools for 3 {G} mana next turn on my untap step I have 3 extra colorless mana now

but the problem is its colorless mana so unless your playing {colossus of akros} your gonna be pretty S.O.L.
Well theres a lot of things with a large amount of colorless mana with a few colored mana symbols are that hard to play i standard without running 25+ lands and those will start to see SOME VERY LIMITED play i think, but for the most part hes not gonna bethe favorite god. Underwhelming to say the least. Its gonna e funny seeing people cast sphinx's revelation for 30 though every once in awhile :p or fireball type effects for 15

Really hope Pharika, God of Affliction is good. Would love to see something like -x/-x and +x/+x to target creatures until end of turn where x is the power of creature that died that turn.
Edit: realized that could snowball quickly into opponent board wipe and swing for win off a single doom blade. Would have to trigger only on your creatures dying
That's kinda rediculous. It'll make {Archetype of Endurance} possibly playable depending on speed of being able to get Kruphix out.

Personally I loved {Stormbreath Dragon} foil, however the {Eidolon of the Great Revel} could look pretty epic as well.
Also add {Prophet of Kruphix} to the mix.

some mobstrosity already sees play. namely {polukranos, world eater} {stormbreath dragon} and {fleecemane lion}.
I use monstrosity with my green devotion deck haha, {Nessian Asp} + {Nemesis of Mortals} and keep them safe with {Archetype of Endurance}
I didnt say no monstrosity gets played
A lot doesnt though, theres some BA huge CMC monstrosity like the gorgon that destroys all other nongorgons
The cool thing is the gods are indestructible so you wouldnt even lose kruphix or any other gods you may have
Just an example of a BA monstrosity ability that is neeever utilized. Its a virtually 100% 1 sided board clear

They were made with casuals in mind, just like always. EDH happens to be casual format; that doesn't mean the cards were designed for it specifically. Casuals love cards like {Worst Fears}, EDH notwithstanding.
Sets have always been this way. There are bad cards on purpose. There are overcosted, splashy cards, intended to excite casuals and get them to buy packs, on purpose. Only a small minority of cards are pushed for competitive Constructed play. None of this has changed.
However i think this set is the coolest in awhile

I think he is the wrong color to be effective. Granted direct damage is {R}'s thing......but {R} typically relies on low CMC for a faster pace. He will rock in a {R} control deck using things like {blood moon}.
But yes he will definitely do damage to yourself if you are not careful. Put him in a stall deck with {ensnaring bridge} and maybe he shines.

I don't think most control decks will really want to have to spend (or even be able to spend) {R}{R} that early. In modern, control decks only splash red, and usually only run about 6-8 lands (at max) that produce red. In legacy, you will want blue as early as possible (for {Ponder}s, {Brainstorm}s, counterspells, etc.) so I don't really see people completely adjusting their mana bases and throwing off the consistency of their decks just to have it.
Aetheros with {Shadowborn Apostles}!!!!!! I think that would be hilarious and douchey.
Maybe do a {B}{U} deck with some sort of {King Macar} {Phenax God of Deception} + untap source? Tap king for milling, untap him, Exile all their creatures, repeat?
Athreos is going to be an awesome card! can't wait to see how he fits in EDH. This King Midas-esque card seems cool (at least flavour-wise) and he will definitely see play in some of my EDH lists.

I was going to go {U}/ {G} Sage of hours turbo fog with {Azor's Elecutors} as the win con. I get like four turns off of the sage then win after passing through them

yea i know there both different both have upsides and downsides. while {city of brass} is normally worse, if you are at one life, you can respond to the life loss trigger by casting a lightning bolt and killing your opponent. you can't do this with the functional reprint.

Yeah I'm a bit sad they broke the theme of the flash enchantments with that +2 anthem. Considering they already had an any colour anthem with the artifact, and each other enchantment was doubling something.

Deicide looks meh to me. Sure, you can exile an enchantment. Maybe you'll get lucky and exile some gods. But IMO, there isn't that much in this set thus far that interests me playability-wise...

I like how they have a lot more global enchantments than botg or theros. It makes it feel much more like an enchantment set than even the other two combined. Overall very pleased with how it came out.

Hey! {Whims of the Fates} is a really fun card. But yeah, Born was a big disappointment.

Hey, I lost a game to a {Fated Intervention} once. I swung with my board that included a {Prophet of Kruphix} against the opponents tapped out voltron crewture, expecting to be able to untap on my opponents turn and block, with lethal on the following turn. Opponent made two smelly centaurs that killed my prophet and left me tapped out with a lethal swing back. Don't underestimate flash creatures!

That makes more sense, but as far as constructed goes, a lot of crap rares.
The guy who copies spells is a beast in limited/2hg limited but is too slow/vulnerable in constructed

{Oreskos sun guide} + {Ephara's Radiance} from what I've seen is actually really annoying and can sustain white for awhile

I really want to make a bant deck in standard to abuse infinite combos:
{Vorel of the Hull Clade}+{Sage of Hours}+{Ajani, Mentor of Heroes}=infinite turns (assuming no removal, of course, just wait until they tap out)
{Horizon Chimera}+{Fathom Mage}+{Archangel of Thune} OR {Sunbond}=infinite draw and lifegain, also huge creatures
just throw in some filler like counterspells, {Experiment One} and maybe {Nyx-Fleece Ram} for blocking and synergy...
