Title: Burn help
Post by: Thetrufflehunter on January 30, 2014, 11:28:39 PM
I need a sideboard! Also, should I buy {badlands} and {bloodstained mire} to splash {bump in the night}, or {plateau} and {arid Mesa} for {Boros charm}?

Don't forget {Torper Orb}. It's perfect for your sideboard.

Against what deck? I'm thinking some {pyroclasm}s and {shattering spree}s.

Edit: I'm thinking of the one that blows up all artifacts and deals damage. What is it called?

Not too sure. But {Shatter}s are a good one too

Orbs are great against almost all legacy tier decks.

OOOHH {vexing devil}!

Yup. It would defiantly help you there.

I used to play this combo in my RDW in standard a while back and won almost all the time at FNM.

So splash white, black, or neither?

Hmm. I'm not sure you really need to splash anything, though the only thing I can think of is white for life gain.

That defeats the purpose of burn, save mirror. If I'm not at 0, then I'm still in the game.

Well I figured if you played against another burn it would help greatly.

Depends on your meta.

Splice white. It gives you options like {lightning helix} and {boros charm} and give you the option of siding in {path to exiles} if need be.

Also if you splash white you can play hate like {Ethersworn Canonist}, as well as enchantment removal.

I can't speak to {Sulfuric Vortex}, but the Canonist is great against Storm and other combo-ey decks.

Canonist is good for SB IF your planning on splashing white. But I think the new white spirit in born of the gods will shut down a lot of legacy cantrips.  It's a 2 cmc 3/1 your opponents don't get to draw cards beyond their draw step. Can't remember the exact name but someone on here will post it.

i would have shrines as a sideboard because whenever you cast a burn it goes up plus as it sitts it becomes bigger and can deal heavy damage after it sits for a little bit.

Way too slow for legacy. Especially with stifles running around.

 {Chain Lightning},  {Goblin Guide}

You were talking about  {Smash to Smithereens} earlier. Good sideboard card.

I need my chain lightnings, but I have the guides.
