What does {B} have in terms of artifact removal?
Very limited
{Gate to Phyrexia}
{Phyrexian Tribute}
{Brink of Disaster} can work too. Mono black can't deal with artifacts very well, it's not part of their color.
If you add other colors TO black, though, you have some options.
{Vindicate}
{Abrupt Decay}
{Corrosion}
{Crosis's Charm}
{High Priest of Penance}
{Gaze of Granite}
{Maelstrom Pulse}
{Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker}
{Ashen Rider}
{Merciless Eviction}
{Rakdos Charm}
{Putrefy}
{Void}
Was hoping to avoid color mixing as I really enjoy my mono black deck. Was trying to run {Immortal Coil} but would need a way to destroy it should things get edgy.
{Oblivion Stone} goes in any EDH deck and can kill anything (but lands).

That's a bit pricy. And I don't do Commander or EDH (never been sure if there's a difference)

Oh, what kind of deck are you building? Also, there is no difference between EDH and Commander, just a different name. EDH is Elder Dragon Highlander, the official name and Commander is the slang term.
Well I have a mono black deck that pivots off of {Tribute to Hunger} {underworld dreams} and {Grey Merchant of Asphodel} basically you sac all your creatures. I gain all the life then I throw out a bunch of annoying low cost fliers {basilica shrieker} {vampire nighthawk} and such. Then bomb with grey merchant late game. However. I need something to save me should my creatures be dying and I'm not drawing my sac cards.

Splash white and use {triad of fates} to put out more fate counters
