So I've acquired two copies of {Norin the Wary} for half a dollar. I'm just not sure how great his ability is though. Why is Norin one of the staples of Modern? (Standard player POV). I have a limited (get it? Haha.) point of view since I started with standard. Thanks guys.

The thing about Norin is that he has a hilarious, laughable and (seemingly) unplayable ability! Sure it's a 1-drop BUT IT CAN'T ATTACK!!!!! BUT, look at the ability again almost every turn it will "bounce" itself once so on each occurrence you have 2 triggers and Enters the Battlefield one and a Leaves the Battlefield trigger. In Modern, there's a deck called Soul Sisters that revolves around {Soul Warden} that wants creatures to enter the battlefield so that they can gain life! This is why Norin is a BAWS! lol i play him in my silly EDH Deck bc he's just a fun card all around!
He's also fun in EDH with {Confusion in the ranks} and/or {Warstorm Surge}/{Pandemonium} ;)

If you stack ETB triggers correctly, Norin gets equipped by the axe and club before {Electropotence} resolves, making his power for the damage trigger much stronger.
Meek stone is more a control/keep your opponents from mustering you while you do your thing card lol
ive seen crazy things with {genesis chamber} in a large edh game.
It's also nearly impossible to kill him

i have two responses for {norin, the wary} in my edh. {torpor orb} is the obvious one so he's not doing crazy things everytime he enters. the best is {tainted æther}. that card will make any norin player want to scoop if they cant blow it up.

Exactly right! Norin EDH decks aren't about attacking, it's super mega trigger stacking!
There is a special place in my heart for Norin EDH decks, and the people who build them. They are complex, fun, and if built right can actually win in awesome ways!
