Title: Is blues wrath card playable?
Post by: Birdbrain on January 22, 2014, 05:51:50 PM
Does anyone know if blues wrath card is playable? I know you would have to cast something afterward to gain tempo. Though that's no problem sense it gives you stuff to cast

The mass Unsummon? Not really, unless you want to play sea monster tribal in EDH.

Sea monster tribal = Serpents, Leviathans, Octopuses and Krakens. Exactly what {Whelming Wave} details.

I'm building one, actually, as a Green-Blue. I'd be stupid not to, considering Kiora's emblem. Just gotta protect her till I can fire off that emblem, is all. If it works out, I'd like to put two of those emblems out. That'd be hilarious.

Also, WotC fail at grammar. It should be "Octopi", not "Octopuses".

That is actually not true.

The '-us' at the end of a noun only becomes '-i' in the plural form if the etymology of the word is Latin. "Octopus" is in fact from Greek and when it entered the English language, it was given a typical English plural inflection.

+1 for enabling my rant.

In Australia, if you said "Octopuses", you'd be marked inept at using the English language. XD

A pair of octopus = a sixteenopus. Problem solved. You're welcome.

As for the actual topic, mass Unsummon can be fun. {Wash Out}, {Inundate}, a well timed {Ætherize}... Can make a really big impact on the board.
