This is actually more casual than modern. Just put this together; I'm going to hold out on purchasing cards until BNG is released just in case they have anything that works well in Golgari. Please share any tips you have that can make this deck more powerful.

If you want a powerful modern deck: {Dark Confidant}, {Liliana of the Veil}, {Maelstrom Pulse}, {Deathrite Shaman}, {Tarmagoyf}, {Verdant Catacombs}, {Marsh Flats}, {Treetop Village}, {Thoughtseize}, and {Inquisition of Kozilek}.

Heh in that case he should play Jund then...:D bcs you would miss cards like terminate and Lightning Bolt... Anyway I guess he was trying to come up with budget deck... Not spending thousand dolars...;)

As much as I hate to say it, the words "budget" and "modern" almost never go together, especially not in these colors :P

Agreed...;)
But the term budget is quite relative... I would say 200-400 $ in modern environment is budget...:) and outside of the colors he chose you can get competetive decks for that price, Fishes or Affinity for example...;)

Or he could just make it {Death's Shadow}/Valroz if he's looking for budget builds. Not nearly as reliable but at least it's something for the price range he appears to be in.

Contemplated doing that myself.  I think winning one of 10 games by scavenging a {Death's Shadow} would make me giggle enough to be worth it haha :P

Or you could make a black green  {Vengevine} deck with  {Bloodghast} and dredge cards like  {Stinkweed Imp}. Throw in  {Life from the Loam} and  {Raven's Crime} and you have a dredgvine deck. Oh and let's not forget good old  {Gravecrawler}.

I say you should switch some stuff in and remove some stuff and make it standard
