Title: SUPER PO'D
Post by: Destore117 on January 17, 2014, 03:05:01 PM
Anyone else a little saucy at wizards for that green all hexproof opponents can't have hexproof?
How is that not OP? Oh I just need 10-20 board wipes in my deck at all times to deal with green now.
{G}{U} oh everything I have is flying
Everything I have is hexproof.
And you can't have any of that.

Run removal or disruption. It does cost 8 and with or without ramp you should have time to stabalize and respond accordingly.

with the ability to {quicken} a {supreme verdict} no one should be able to complain about not enough removal. if they print something like avacyn that makes everything indestructible, then it would be a different story.

{Elspeth, Knight-Errant} does that, but not in standard

The high mana cost is what makes it okay in my book. If I'm playing Blue, then I can counter or wipe the things I don't like. If I'm playing Black, then I'll control my opponent's hand/board state. And if I'm playing Red, then I'll just kill them before it's playable :) always ways around the bombs.

If this gives you any solace: I run GW Hexproof, it is my favorite deck in standard and modern. I will never run this card, except possibly in EDH. He is way too pricey to take advantage of his ability, except possibly in {G} devotion and I am not sure the deck would even want to waste the mana on him.

He's only playable in modern with {elvish piper}. Even then, he's still not overpowered

I just feel like his effect is way to good. And I was surprised like
Really wizards? I hate hexproof enough. Don't give it to everythiiiing ;-;
And there's tons of ways to get him on the board
{Quicksilver amulet}? Can't think of others but they exist.

None in Standard and pretty much every other format is so filled to the brim with OPness that who cares if it has an 8 drop that gives your stuff hexproof? Outside of standard, people would rather run {Privileged Position} or {Asceticism}

I think that the real reason that the hexproof archetype is bad is that in EDH/standard, if you have 8 mana open, there are much better green creatures to play.

It's not a bad card. I don't see why it's such a big deal. Like its been said before, if you don't like it, run counter spells or wraths.

My main problem with hexproof is I don't have any board wipes besides {Merciless Eviction}. But yeah his mana cost is a lot.
The first strike one though. Can see alotta love going his way. Hoping on an all deathtouch black one.

No ways in standard to cheat him out? You guys need to read Garruk's newest printing again.

Still a 6 cost.  With super ramp, that still turn 3.

Getting him out is a challenge in and of itself; because even with ramp, someone could easily counter it. Secondly, board wipes/hand control to make you discard it.

It's not overpowered. Still a great card for Bant Hexproof or EDH.

It's really not that bad

Oh you spent all that mana to cast it?

Counter spell.

Devour flesh
Merciless eviction (should be a SB incase you run into Selesnya kitties)
