I invested an immense number of hours into 1 and 3. I like to think I am the best bowgunner ever :p

I've put about 900 hours in between mhfu, mh3, and mh3u and I just started gunning last week. Its not as bad as I thought it'd be but I'll never be as good as I am with a hammer or gunlance

Is it because you dont hunt with a party? Solo can sometimes be boring.

True that, gunning gets boring on solo. And I have 3ds so it's all solo unless I'm with my friends. But I moved half way across the country a few months ago and haven't been able to party hunt in a while
I need a wii u and some wifi

Conversely, I think teamwork turns the gunner into the most fun position. To be most effective, you have to be aware of the state and position of your teammates more than any other weapon role.

A killing blow is nowhere near as fun as a split-second recovery shot to a teammate, saving their life as they get smacked by something's tail and them typing "thanks!" In the dialogue box

I hear a lot of people say it's the most fun weapon to party with, I still like my hammers though. Even if I golf swing a teammate, it's always a savior for them getting thrown out of the way

Or when I golf swing a charging monster for a kill. I love bashing Rathalos out of the sky with final blows. And cha cha will shoot flying wyvrens out of the sky with his Rathalos

I love sns but I think I'd like it more if I had a teammate.

I used to hate SnS just because I overplayed it in mhfu but my friend got me into it again and it was just so smooth. I got the Dirty Graff sns from great wroggi and Giginox X armor to give me awaken, razor sharp, status +2 and gemmed in speed sharpening and evasion +2.
Eat from cateen to boost status more and I do 350+ raw and 770+ poison.
My personal favorite SnS setup ever

That's sick. Sns is really good at elemental damage

So smooth feeling

I can only imagine what mh4 is like. I read that everything in it has been made to go way smoother and on a better flow if you know what I mean. And the jump attacks you get are so beautiful.
