Here it is! Mafia again!! If you played before you know the rules! But here they are anyways!!
There are 12 players (or a variant of 9). A doctor, a police, 7 townsfolk and 3 mafia! (or 5 and 2). These roles will be randomly selected, once they are selected, I will PM your role to you. DO NOT ANNOUNCE YOUR ROLE ON THIS THREAD!!!'.
The mafia will know who the other mafia are!
After I have sent out roles, the game will begin! The game starts in the day, when everyone will vote on one player to lynch! The mafia will join in on this as well. Please do not randomly select someone to vote on, have supporting evidence! The time limit on a day is three days (real time). Once that time is up, I will count votes and whoever got the most votes is lynched!! (if you didn't already guess, you are trying to lynch the mafia) That person will then reveal their role, and it becomes night.
During the night, the mafia will communicate and vote on someone to kill, they will inform me of that person, and they will be killed.
Other roles:
Doctor: every day, the doctor will select one person to protect, and PM me their choice, if that person is killed, they don't die. The doctor CAN NOT protect himself.
Police: every night, the police will send me a name of one if the players, I will then send them the role of that player.
The object of the game is to kill all the mafia before they kill you!

The ones who make me the most nervous (apart from the two who implicated I'm probably going to die tonight lol) are the ones who say nothing at all. Arbitratur, Crackalacka, and Nyghtwolf have all been totally silent since the kill. I doubt all three of them are the mafia, but I bet at least one of them is, watching and taking notes.

I do feel a tad doomed :P but there is a doctor out there. I'm kind banking on being a "high chance target" kill for the mafiosos also making me a high chance target for the save. Or at least enough of a possibility of that happening to make me less appealing to the death squad, because they might waste their kill on me.

Just trying to make a logical argument to save my own ass in the night lol. Hopefully I don't need to make one to save myself in the daytime, it's hard to make a case for yourself on the first day.
In any case, I'm voting for Crackalacka. Best case scenario, he's mafia. Worst case, he's inactive in the game, so we don't lose an active person.

Nonchalant meaning indifferent, not random. Although it may have been a bad word choice in the first place. My vote, and other people's votes as well actually had base. My point is the only base for Vindogs vote was that other people were voting that way, if you ask me it seems like he was trying to gauruntee a lynching.

Okay so I feel like I need to make known my beliefs thus far, I believe that both Gorzo and Spencer Addington are mafia. Now before everyone jumps down my throat, let me explain why, but remember that these are just my beliefs.
Yesterday I called Gorzo out, and I've explained why in my previous posts so I'm not gonna go over all of that again, but of course if they had killed me off that night then that would cast the suspicion onto Gorzo, so that was smart of him. But then first thing in the a.m. Spencer Addington votes to lynch me out of left field. Now this is also smart of the mafia, try to get people against me and start up the public lynching of me, and cast the shadow off of them. So like I said I believe that these are 2 of the 3. As for the 3rd mafia as speculation I think it could be vindog, this is because I started looking over what darkarts was saying about vindog and it started opening up my eyes, and he was the only one who thought I was acting suspicious by calling out Gorzo.

If you use that logic, you two just made yourselves look mafia as hell. Arbitratur seems to be on a witch hunt for me, and Dark Arts helps him point the finger at me because they're working together. I don't know if it's true or not, but you see my point, right?
As for being defensive, you're damn right I am! I made a big play last day to keep myself alive, and it worked. I figured there'd be some next-day complications. So sure, I'm being defensive to try staying alive - the longer you survive, the better your odds. But what about the level of playing offensively I'm seeing? Looks to me like some players are less concerned with survival and more occupied by slaying with very little early-turn info. You guys already killed our cop on day 1 :( I wanted to lynch the idlers, which helps the good guys!
Either way, I have to vote for Arbitratur. The vigorous accusations are just too fishy to me. Even if they weren't pointed at me I'd be suspicious of them.

Personally, as I said yesterday, Gorzo just seems to be trying wayyyy too hard and is being very defensive... Just seems a bit fishy to me, therefore I will cast my vote for Gorzo

Well at least someone shares my way of thinking. And I do think that you could be correct about who the first two are as well. I also see I high probability of the mafia taking out one of us two tonight. So like you said, if they do, at least we know where to look.
If you use that logic, you two just made yourselves look mafia as hell. Arbitratur seems to be on a witch hunt for me, and Dark Arts helps him point the finger at me because they're working together. I don't know if it's true or not, but you see my point, right?
As for being defensive, you're damn right I am! I made a big play last day to keep myself alive, and it worked. I figured there'd be some next-day complications. So sure, I'm being defensive to try staying alive - the longer you survive, the better your odds. But what about the level of playing offensively I'm seeing? Looks to me like some players are less concerned with survival and more occupied by slaying with very little early-turn info. You guys already killed our cop on day 1 :( I wanted to lynch the idlers, which helps the good guys!
Either way, I have to vote for Arbitratur. The vigorous accusations are just too fishy to me. Even if they weren't pointed at me I'd be suspicious of them.

It seems like if people are allowed to lie about their role than someone who is mafia who was lynched will just say they were towns person and we will never know if we were right. Developing different theories and voting differently as the game goes on seems natural to me actually. If you think about it the reason is obvious. As the game goes on more and more information is available and there are less and less people to vote for so theories are obviously going to change.

How would you guys like to try a more forum friendly variant of mafia? A friend picked up a copy of One-Night-Werewolf recently, and I can't help but think of how well it would do here.
Here's how it works.
-The number of players is flexible. There must be at least 3 players. In the pool of roles, there are always 3 more roles than there are players. The extra 3 remain in a pool that is outside of the game. Some roles can interact with these unused roles.
-roles are handed out at random. You look at your role (you know what you are at the start)
-The night happens. Many roles have a special action at night (see below).
-once the night actions are done, the game begins. It's just like mafia, except there is only ONE DAY. If a werewolf is lynched, all werewolves lose and all humans win! If a non-werewolf is lynched, all humans lose and the werewolves win!
The roles:
-The Werewolves (x2): the werewolves are the mafia. They know who each other are.
-The Villager (x?): does nothing. Knows nothing.
-The Seer: before the game, the seer may look at one player's role, or at two of the three unassigned roles.
-The Robber: steal another player's role. Look at your new role.
-The Troublemaker: Swap two other players' roles. You don't get to look at them (and neither do they!)
The Hunter: if lynched or killed, the hunter kills the person he's currently voting for along with him. If the hunter kills a werewolf, the humans (including the hunter) win!
The Insomniac: at the end of the night, the insomniac looks at her own card (and knows if her role has been messed with, and what the new role is if so. If it a new role, she becomes that role, but does not get to take a night action if it has one)
The Minion: The minion is working secretly for the werewolves. If the werewolves win, the minion wins, and if the humans win, the minion loses. If the minion is killed, the werewolves win (and so does the minion, a sacrifice for the cause)
The Tanner: the tanner wants to die. If the tanner is killed, the tanner, and ONLY the tanner wins!
The Masons (x2): the masons are just plain villagers, however the masons know who the other mason is, much like the werewolves.
The Drunk: During the night, the drunk switches his role randomly with one of the three unused roles. He does not get to look at his new role. Because he's drunk.
The Doppleganger: at the beginning of the night, the Doppleganger chooses another player (secretly). He becomes that player's role and takes their night action immediately if they have one (unless becoming the insomniac, in which case they will look at their own card again at the end of the night)
I would be happy to moderate, as much as I love playing :) since the game only goes one "day" at a time, it should be a lot easier to actually complete
