I played my first D&D session ever today. I really enjoyed it and plan to keep playing it. Anyone else play?
I play everyone in a while.
Very free though make up the story as we go with no board,no books, and no character figurines.
Just a d20
Usually ends up with all of us dying of laughter.

That's sort of how my DM is. It's more humor based and all we use are different die and a dry erase board. He makes everything up as we go along. I'm still new to it and I haven't committed everything to memory, so I use my iPad for reference.
I have played for 4 years, DM'd for 3
My favorite characters I've had are
A lightning Genasi that dual wields Halberds and absorbed the lightning primordial: named Rex Lessus
A Psionic soul knife monk who bent Ki around his feet and hands: named Zenat Esther
And finally a Battlemind/Psionic/Artificer Shadar-Kai who wields the God of Time and Space (Ouroboros) as his bastard sword: named Terra
Everything I did was within the rules :D
I have not had the experience of D&D yet. Therefore I shall mooch off of an older friend in the future in order to play. ;)
I could never get into it.

I've been wanting to play for months but the one group I know who plays, play it during the day when I'm working. I have a couple friends with normal work schedules that are playtesting D&D Next (which I guess will officially be fifth ed. when released) and asked me to join in.
It's hard getting a group together. I've tried looking for people on Craigslist before but had no luck. Most people just want to play video games nowadays.
I play 3.5 (WAY better than 4.0). I also play Deathwatch (Warhammer 40k TTG RPG).
I like Deathwatch a little more.
Well the friends my age think D&D is stupid. It is my older friends who are in college who play. They just fail to invite me because they think I'll hate it every time. And yet I'm the first to call whenever a gaming session, mtg session, or movie session is put together. ._.

4.0 has it's strengths and weaknesses like every other set :p

Yeah it's a ton of fun.
It's cool seeing terms used in D&D that I associate with Magic.
I've always wanted to play, still have yet to.. 😕
Would it be possible to play D&D over the threads? Like a D&D wall game!?
YES
Can everyone please agree with me!? This needs to be a thing!!!!!!
I'd freaking love to play, and we could all play here!
Used to play a ton when I was younger, but I haven't been able to much in years since it's so hard to get friends together for entire weekends at a time now. Great memories.
An online D&D thing would be pretty fun. Wall-game forum type thing wouldn't work (game sessions take an entire day face to face - image how long it would take if a 10-minute zombie horde game takes 2 months on a wall game) but there are live chat rooms or Skype or other options.
There are some wall game ways to play, but yeah it takes awhile. I'm down for skype

I used to RP in chat rooms back in the day. Just never played on paper. I found a site a while back that hosted games but there wasn't a whole lot of activity. This is something I'd be interested in if we could get enough people together and find a chat room to have it at.
Have you checked some game stores by you. There is one by me that always has sign ups for all sorts of games.

The comic shop I frequent sells the materials but doesn't host campaigns. The shop I play Magic at hosts campaigns after hours (they close at midnight) during the week. Too late for me. One group I know plays during the week when I'm at work. Luckily the guys I'm playing with now have the same schedule as me and can only get together a few hours a week like me.
Swordmage or Sorcerer?
I'm getting asked by my classmate to join D&D. Sorry for necroing, but well its DnD. What're your personal favorites (classes) and why?
