So after almost every FNM I attend, me and a few guys from my regular play group will go to Waffle House afterwards.. We decide to bust out our commander decks for a "quick" game and before we even start, the dude to my left knocks his glass of water over.. Onto my deck..
After cleaning up all of the water and pulling out all of the damaged cards, here's the list of wet cards:

Could have been worse, but I was still upset about the whole thing while the guy that knocked it over laughed and apologized while laughing and trying to downplay it while everyone else said it's just cardboard and that I shouldn't be so upset.😰
Anyone else have bad things happen to their cards?
So he basically ruins $50 in cards and tries to play it off? Wut.
Edit: Thankfully nothing bad has happened to any of my cards yet (knock on wood) but I'd be all about getting compensation from that dude if it were me. But then, I'm just like that. =\ if it were like $5-10 I wouldn't care as much, but you have some expensive (from my perspective) cards on that list.
He's a regular at my shop and I know what you mean, I'm the same way man.. When it happened all that was running through my head was the numbers haha.. I'll bring it up next week, but blahhhhhh, I'm still upset about it haha
Worst experience was about 3 months into heavily playing magic we had a flood in our area and it caused my basement to fill with 2 feel of water, that proceeded to tip a square folding table I had all my cards on...I lost my entire trade binder, all my common and Uncommons, and two fat pack boxes. Apparently though the magic gods loved me for my sleeved deck which had 3 playsets of shocks, 4 Reckoners, etc. that was in a deck builders toolkit box floated to a stack of books that kept the top of the deck builders kit out of the water. That's my awful story.
Oh man, yeah I've heard about players losing cards to flooding, sorry to hear it man :(
Oof. If it were me, I'd raise hell about it until he compensated just because he laughed about it. If he didn't make a joke of it and was genuinely sorry about it, I wouldn't worry about it because 💩 happens. Even though $50 is kind of a lot.
My advice is to double sleeve
One time I was playing with my friend with my Mill deck, and accidentally spilled Pepsi over:

and a few others I can't remember.
I threw my box of decks in my duffle bag that had laundry in it so I could head to a friends house. I wasn't thinking and dumped the bag in the washer and fired it up. I pretty much ruined 4 decks :(
