MSRP is $74.99
Release set for May 30th
Interested to see what the size of the print run will be, as well as the actual deck list.
I waaaannnnt just because I would like to have a modern deck just around.
😮
Awesome, for that price there will be some sweet staples
What modern deck costs 74 bucks?? That's like...the price of 1 Bob.

have you forgotten about your face?
I want this soooo bad.
For that price, are we going to see like, a fetch or something? Unless you're running rdw, that's a couple hundred off of basically all modern decks.
There's nothing wrong with goblins.
Keep in mind that MSRP is only suggested, and that MSRP for FTV:20 was $39.99, despite the value of the cards in it well exceeding that price.
One archetype that would seem like a good fit (this is speculation, nothing more) for this kind of thing would be a Pod deck. Because it runs so many 1-of's, they could sprinkle in some staples like a fetch or two, {Grove of the Burnwillows}, {Chord of Calling}, etc.
I'm personally interested in the archetype they choose not because of the cards that could be reprinted, but because it gives us an opportunity to get a more clear idea of what Wotc envisions modern to look like as a format/deck.

Definitely agree/excited. I think we will see multifilament staples that overlap with legacy and modern (grove, like you suggested) 1 fetch is plausible.

I just want it for the spindown life counter!! Lol
Also couldn't it be soul sisters? That's a cheap deck isn't it?
Definitely gonna have to pick one of these up. Wizards has been good to Modern player s recently, I doubt this thing will be less than stellar.
Since its an event deck, that means LGS only then... Right?
It will likely be an easy to understand deck as these are meant for people knew to the format. Soul sisters seems possible but favors only a small percentage of the community. Pod is also possible but not the combo version. Strorm, rock, american control, and eggs we can rule out completely. Merfolk seems likely and doesnt anger a great deal of people by hitting the market prices too hard. We could get elves or goblins I spose but hope not on both. Honestly though the most likely deck I believe it to be, Afinity. It's simple, aggressive, doesn't favor one part of the player base too much, and is on adverage a adverage priced deck to build.
Keep in mind if we get fetches in this product it will likely be at max two and other semi money cards will be one or two ofs. That being said I would love to see this product have one of each fethcland for some sort of weird landfall deck that hints at zendikar's return but i doubt it.
it could also be used as a way to bring cards into the modern card pool without going through standard first... that would be awesome
I will buy it, but not if its affinity.
Thanks for the heads up. I just put one on order. If they get them I got it for msrp.

A game shop by me that I deal with often. They said I'm on a list but cannot guarantee they will even get it.
Also don't forget they already gave us an event deck with a fetch land in it. http://www.wizards.com/magic/magazine/article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/arcana/766

There are two deck lists on the page, the second one has a single {Verdant Catacombs} in it.
Ah, I just didn't scroll down far enough, thanks.
Hate to say it but it seems if you get an event deck one out of every few has a card that jumps. {Goblin Guide}, {Stoneforge Mystic}, {Birthing Pod}, just a few off the top of my head. And the recent ones include a shock land.

General reddit consensus is the deck is either B/W tokens or affinity.
BW tokens definitely seems like something they'd use for an event deck
WAAAAANT
I like the Merfolk, BW Tokens, or Soul Sisters speculation. Hatebears could be a possibility, I feel like it will be Aggro. With all the Affjnity reprints in MMA I actually think its less likely they'd go the artifact route.
I really just want the sleeves. If they're anything like the commander's arsenal ones then they will be so sick.
What about a slightly watered down elemental combo
