Title: Deck Building for Beginners
Post by: Vasilicov on January 06, 2014, 05:03:50 AM
So I am sort of a newb when it comes to building decks. Last night I got frustrated making a 5 color sliver deck. Are their any tips out there for beginners on how to build a deck? Any advice you can give?

5 color can be very tricky, especially for first time deck building. A big question is, how much money are you willing to spend? If you're not willing to spend much, a simple playset or  3 of of {Chromatic Lantern} can help a lot. And to clarify, this isn't a commander deck is it?

First advice, dont build five color. Get comfortable with the color that makes the most sense to you/ your favorite. Then over time add an additional color that has the effects you feel your deck needs access to. From there with some practice and research you should know enough to begin working other color comboes including eventually five color.

You might consider buying the Deck Builder's Toolkit.
