After a couple of games at the local hobby shop my bro decided to get a Theros pack. I never knew he bought one until near the end of the day. He wasn't one to check prices and it was his first pack. Lo and behold he got a {Hero's Downfall}! He's picking my packs from now on. :)

Nice pulls... restoration angel's really good once you get the lands in draft.
Let see... First 3 packs were Chronicles... Got {xira arien}, {craw giant}, {horn of deafening}.
Then the friend I was with bought a black lotus for something like 600 cash
{Omnisience} was the first rare/mythic, {Cryptic Command} is probably the most value.
{death rite shaman}. Before I was any good, I traded it for the spin down that came with the fat pack (I split it with my brother).
My first pack was the elves vs goblins duel deck, so yea. But my first mythic was {Abyssal Persecutor}
I don't even know...I was 7 and it was a Champions of Kamigawa pack. First mythic (because they didn't come out until Alara and I was on hiatus until M13) was a foil {Vraska, the Unseen} on RTR release day, it was selling for $80 on Ebay when I opened it.

Nice mythic pull! Rares seem to be the only ones popping up in the local shops.
{Dismember} from a New Phyrexia pack was the first valuable thing I pulled. I remember realizing it was $5 and not trading it off. Now I still have it and it's worth practically nothing. :(

I wonder if I would purchase an 8th-6th ed pack. The old art looks snazzy, but yeah, these packs (more often than not) don't pay for themselves.

My first pack was in worldwake and I got a foil blue card that everyone was after at the time.
That's right folks {Goliath sphinx} and somehow before I put into a sleeve I got a huge gash in the foiling.

{Tephraderm} was my first ever rare and i really liked it. Specially the art XD

I don't remember exactly. But I do remember pulling a Garruk Wildspeaker as my first planeswalker pull and had no clue what the heck it was! Lol

Stopped playing for like 6 years so I picked up a theros box and a deck builder box and pulled a {elspeth, sun's champion}, {thassa, god of the sea}, {battle of wits}, and a few other mythical and rares.
First MtGO prize pack had a {Scavenging Ooze}, if that counts :P. Can't remember what my first paper pack had. Probably crap haha
Paper packs give a feeling of excitement actually. Either pure unadulterated joy or sheer disappointment. The power of them innocent packs. :)

I think my first ever pull was an {Uril, the Miststalker}. I've built decks around him, the latest of which being an Uril EDH deck, which was also my first ever EDH deck.
Early on, I also pulled a foil {Venser, the Sojourner}. I still have it. I've never put him in a deck, but I've always held on to him. I still don't know how much he was worth back in Scars block. That was before I knew cards had prices associated with them.
Magic would be a different game if it had not been attached with prices ;)
I bought two packs for the first time. It was back in 1994 when revised came out.
I pulled a {Savannah} and a {Birds of Paradise}. They sat in my card box for about 6 months until I figured out how well they worked. Haha
My first pack was an M12 pack. Got a {Sunpetal Grove} and a foil {Inferno Titan} I traded the inferno titan for my first deck...

Lol not bad. Good thing you traded for a deck. Its selling for $2 max nowadays. Nothing like foil though. :)

Albeit it doesn't fetch much in terms of greens, it is still great that it got you into magic somehow. Myr Battlesphere is fun to build around to.
I remember pulling {Capsize} back in 1999. I loved bouncing people's stuff back over and over. Still one of my favorite return cards ever printed!
