Thats how I do it. If you are familiar with your deck and have a lot of cards in your yard you could stack them like that and then over lap multiple stacks. Like:

CaCard
CaCard
CaCard
CaCard
CaCard

I try the name stacking but it ends up getting put into a neat straight stack. I might try creeps lands etc as seperate piles.

Are you allowed to do that? I know that there are some cards that care about graveyard order...

as long as you are playing with cards that dont care about graveyard order, then you can organize it how you like. but certain cards, like {nether shadow} care about order so gy must stay in order that they hit the yard.

Technically no, since there are cards that do care about graveyard order. But those are all pretty old, and there are no such cards in Standard, so most people probably won't care.

It only matters in legacy and vintage. Those formates play the graveyard matter cards...edh does as well but since its casual formate I don't think ppl will care much.
