Okay, so I hated Windows 8 when I first saw it, but my laptop stopped working yesterday and I needed one. So today I booked it to my closest Walmart and all of the computers had...Windows 8. I was on a budget and had work due today so I just grabbed one and got home, hoping I could figure the thing out in thing out and get back to work. After using it though, I really like it. Only the start menu is weird, most of it is just like Windows 7, except the system is a lot more user friendly and customizable. What do you think of Windows 8 if you have used it?
I only like windows 8 on a desktop that doesn't have the touch screen feature (because if on a desktop, it is awkward to do). Mostly because on a laptop it can be very tough to crank out what I personally do on my desktop. Which is gaming.
If it isn't a gaming laptop (never heard of one but still) then windows 8 is great. I love it, and it is very reliable. It doesn't deserve all the crap it gets, and I haven't had any problems with it.
Sure sometimes it gets very VERY slow, but just shut down for a day or two, it'll be fine.
Anyway, that's my two cents
You'll want to kill yourself soon enough. Windows 8 sucks at everything.
👆. 8=💥😵🔫
Why not get a Mac? Lol jk I wish they were more affordable :( I have a refurbished one from 4 years ago cost me $1,000 after tax it runs fine its a tad slow but it's 4 years old and refurbished but I love it to death!! :D
My computer has windows 8... I wish it didn't. The crashes, glitches, and lost data are hardly worth the new start menu :(
I'm not a huge fan and I hate how all laptops and desktops come with it already installed...I really wish they gave you a choice in that in most shops. I plan on getting an Alienware desktop soon and thankfully fell actually gives you an option to opt out of windows 8. I hope your new laptop works out for you :)

I grew up with Windows, I use windows at school, even my phone is Windows. I know how to use windows with crash reports, system restore and all the other complexities so I would rather stick with what I know.

I would really, really suggest building your own desktop versus buying an alienware. It's not that hard to assemble, you get much more control over what goes in it, and most importantly, it's cheaper.

Ah, but with macs, you don't need to do crash reports, system restores or any of that other garbage at all. And it's very intuitive to use, so no need to figure out all the complexities.
lol, you really haven't used computers enough then I suspect. Yes, even mac's crash and have issues. a computer is a computer. hardware will fail after time, (some shorter than others). The crazy thing is that the apple computers are all pretty much the same as all the others on the market these days (internally), except they charge you a bucket more money and then say the OS is free. haha.

I use computers a lot and this is IMO not true... Sure they crash but they have a 1:10 ish chance if getting a virus, apple to windows. And it is very different. Easier to use, does better stuff, does more stuff, overall better. Windows sucks.
