Title: New years eve date (halp meh)
Post by: Slenderbro on December 24, 2013, 09:00:05 PM
Ok so I intend to spend a wonderful evening with my even more wonderful girlfriend, but I dont know what to do.

I dont want to do anything normal, i want to make it special and different. Something she wont forget.

And i wanna know what the vast mind of this community has to offer. So i pose the question, where should i take my girl for new years eve?

Depends on where you live, some cities have more to offer than others.

Your bedroom ;)
Isn't he like under 20? ;)

Go to the highest bridge you can and sit in the edge, looking into the sunset, holding hands, gazing deep into her eyes... Then push her off

That was really good until you theoretically killed her. Thanks man :)

I swear, and soon as I read the word bridge, I was thinking "make it romantic, then push!"  Then that's actually what you said!  Plus 1!
I'm just sitting here like "shieettt that escalated quickly".

More evidence that you should ask real people for advice...

Kidding, the community is awesome.
Make her a song, sing in front of a crowd. Ask your friends for assistance. What things does she like?

Genius

Maybe take her out to dinner at her favorite resturaunt, see a new movie with her, and then the next day go out for coffee to get to know her better? ;)

Try something simple dinner, then spend the New Years at yours or her place, play a board game, hell play magic, but at the end of the night tell her how you feel about her and look back at the past few months together.

Cook for her (if you know her favorite foods, even better) and, if she plays Magic, buy two of the Commander decks out right now and do that! So much fun :) that way you can watch the ball drop without being in the thick of things and losing that intimacy.

Cooking for a girl always makes an impression. Especially if she enjoys watching you cook as mine does. If you have access to a place to get it, I have a recipe for duck a l'orange that will gaurentee a good night. If not than some seafood would be fun too. Bay scallops are small and cook relatively quickly, and it also happens I have a decent recipe for them too floating around somewhere. They are much more affordable than their larger cousins, but not always easy to find, unless you are near ish the coast.

As an aside to anyone who needs recipe or dinner help, feel free to Pm me with what you like, and I will be happy to help.

Thank you. It's nice to see my schooling is going to use outside of work.
