Title: Would you play it?
Post by: Trugamr12 on December 24, 2013, 08:26:36 PM
So obviously the theros block is extremely popular and the new mechanics are interesting.  I was wondering how many people would play a creature with heroic if it had hexproof and a +1/+1 trigger? And if a creature had these abilities what would a fair playable CMC and P/T be for a creature of uncommon, rare, and mythic status?

Search card database function

Hit filter - under search field write "heroic"

Make sure "text" box is highlited.

Now you can find every heroic creature in the mtg universe (as long as its in the database)

I've been messin around with a bant themed heroic, trying to balance it to 60 cards, currently at 62

This is a "what if" scenario. I would definitely play a creature that had Heroic and Hexproof, provided its CMC is 4 or under and its Heroic actually did something (looking at you, {Setessan Battle Priest}). It would go perfectly in my Selesnya Hexproof deck. (I'd be willing to splash if the thing ended up blue).

Herorics that I would like to see.

{2}{B}
Uncommon
Human or gorgan
Heroric- Gets a +1/+1 counter and gains deathtouch until end of turn.
0/2

{4}{U}
Uncommon
Human or merfolk
Heroic- {unsommon} up to one target creature.
2/4

{1}{R}
Common
Human
Heroic- +3/+0 until end of turn.
1/1

{6}{G}
Uncommon
Human or dryad
Heroic- Put a X/X elemental onto the battlefield where X is this creature's power.
5/6

Not taking the time to write the abilities in proper rules text right now.

That is very poweful even as a 0/1. Maybe one more cmc on a 1/2? 4 mana is just so early in the game to have access to that.

It dies the second it hits the field and it requires a heroic trigger (which would usually be wasted because you would never use this thing to attack or block), but I agree, push it up one or two CMC.
