Title: Living weapon
Post by: Nobbert on March 21, 2012, 12:27:46 PM
Can somebody please explain this concept in layman's terms?  I'm not sure how to equip it to another creature other than the dumb germ

{Sickleslicer} when u cast this u get a 0/0 black germ token and u eqiup the living to it immediantly. Then its a regular equipment and once u equip it to something else the germ dies

You pay the equip cost of the equipment and put it where you want it to go.

What those two said. It's a kind of odd and roundabout way of getting a creature on the board right away.  So you play {sickle slicer} or {flayer husk}, get your 1/1 or 2/2 body now, and then move that bonus onto other creatures later.

*psst* Use it with {Intangible Virtue} or better yet {Essence of the Wild}.  ;)

Essence Of the wild would make the germ 6/6 right?  Plus whatever the equipment is?

Essence of the wild + Gravecrawler. Can you keep bringing back a 6/6 so long as there is a zombie under your control?

Yes when {Gravecrawler} dies he turns back into him. Then u cast him and he becomes a 6/6 again

Eh. {Thraben Doomsayer} would be better. The humans would become 6/6 when they enter

I made a deck and put it up here with living weapons and the essence guy.
I've tested it a few times on cockatrice vs my other decks. It looks like it would work but for the price of all the cards, I decided against investing just yet.
The deck is called "it moves on its own!" under standard.

If you were going for straight 6/6 token gen, then all you would need is 4 of the essence guy, probably something to help you get him out earlier. And straight token gen cards. {gather the townsfolk} {lingering souls} etc. your limit would be casting colour and what format you wanted to play in.
Also as far as tokens go, they survive against a enter and sac {ratchet bomb} as they all have a mana cost of 6 being copies! :)
