Title: Comics/Graphic Novel Thread
Post by: Metalxdelights on December 17, 2013, 02:00:24 PM
There are quite a few people here that enjoy comics and if you're like me, you keep up with them and buy them every Wednesday. Feel free to share what's on your pull list, recommendations and reviews here. Even share your favorite comic shop if you'd like. :) I'm always looking for something new to read.

The only thing I'm getting tomorrow is Locke & Key: Alpha #2. It's going to be bittersweet, being the last issue and all.

I also may pick up Saga of the Swamp Thing Vol. 5 if the shop has it. Early Christmas present to myself.

I've heard a lot of good things about Locke and Key but I've never picked up any issues. After reading a few issues of Constantine are you still on the fence?

I must mention that I can't wait for Scottt Snyder and Rafael Albuquerque to get started on American vampire again. I've read all the comics, The Road to Hell featuring Travis again and The Anthology (really surprised by some of the writers)

It's fantastic.

I haven't read anymore Constantine. I've been chipping away at my growing To Read list. Right now I'm juggling two books at a time but I don't know how long I can keep that up.

I'll have to check it out :)

I'm that way, but with video games. I have a stack of about 8 shrieked wrapped games...I've managed to knock that down from 15.

Just read the last Locke and Key ever. It was good and sad.

Also picked up Welcome to Christmasland #1 and #2. Someone ordered them last week and never paid for them. I was happy to take them off the shop's hands.

I'm a huge fan of the Darkness/Angelus/Witchblade series done by Top Cow. SO GOOD.

Glad you enjoyed your comics. I'll be late to the party but luckily I'll be able to get into Locke and Key, my shop has the comics and volumes. ^_^

Don't you love when that happens?

Yes! I'm hooked! Those comics are always full of surprises. Have you played the video game? It's not as amazing as the comics but still good (:

The second game was much better. And as a game based on a graphic novel it does an amazing job.

I don't believe I've played the second game, I just might have to get it. Have you read any of the Artificats comics?

No, I haven't. Unfortunately, my Top Cow prowess has dwindled recently due to tight funds, so I'm not really able to get anything.

Aww that sucks, if you ever get the chance you should definitely read them.

Yes! Neil Gaiman is one if my favorites and I was lucky enough to meet him on his last US book signing tour. Sandman: Overarure #1 and #2 were just recently released. If you haven't already, definitely look into those. :D

I live by sandman. I also love Blade of the Immortal. It's a Darkhorse graphic novel, that made it's way from Japan, and crushed the wannabe manga artists. Definitely worth checking out if you've never read and/or seen it.
